thats happened a few times to me was at GB LALA land no update then postie rang and was there

From my experience, when it lands on my door mat. In the past it has only been a couple of days from Langley to door.

Update. Just after posting, my latest package plopped through the door.

Arrived with me 10.30am 19th, so RM did okay.

I wouldn't worry too much mikes ... I had one recently that took 5 days to ship from China to GBLALA and then a further 3 weeks to land at my door. HMRC and Royal mail are often the main culprits in delayed delivery.

Again - how do you know this? Unless you've some insider knowledge, you have no clue who is responsible. The tracking says it's shipped, but who says it's straight on a plane?
I work for neither HMRC or RM, but both our customs operation and our mail system are recognised as the best in the world. Remarkably the number two is France.
It's just moaning Brits who knock our services.

I would have thought it was quite obvious ... The tracking info declared that it was dispatched to GB on day zero. On day 5 it had arrived at GBLALA. On day 26 it was delivered to my door.
So 5 days from China to UK and 3 weeks in the hands of the various UK agencies.

No, still not obvious. What you are saying is that 17track tells you it's arrived at Heathrow? Or usually Langley?
