It seems the centre pin was screwed in too tightly and was squashing the insulator it was really hard to undo but made sure everything was where it should be and did'nt tighten it up so much put in a 1.5ohm coil and it works!! Thanks for all your help, so glad it's sorted I really like these.

Really pleased you have the problem sorted! At least next time something goes wrong, you've got a whole list of things to check first
