Was reading the board this evening and enjoying all the information and discussions about gear and juice and all things 60 watts plus etc! And it got me to thinking; me and Mrs poo have been vaping 2years and 6months according to my bottom banner (is that even a noun?) and how things have changed in such a short time! For example, discussions were still being had then about bulding a res/no res/res wire welder from a redundant flashgun! No-one but the very trailblazing few vaped over 15 watts because that's what a Vamo could deliver! Subohming was literally just being invented by dudes using 'micro coils' which were generally wrapped using .25 or .3 kanthal on a 1mm drill bit! How mad is that! Greigster not much later had got generous permission of the American inventor to make the coil buddy in the UK (I bought the wood one, later raffled, and still use his aluminium model which was shortly afterwards sold by FT for about 3 quid ) PERPETUAS VANILLA CUSTARD!!!! Was the mix that every newby who couldn't wait for, or afford to buy Grants Vanilla Custard, made! (I mixed a Litre of this a few weeks ago! Thanks Perps xxx) I remember Evods being a game changer, and Ego batteries that could be adjusted to deliver 4.2 watts regulated, changing the game even further, then Vamo's changed that game again! The vamo's then ,v1and v2 were made of tube that had a purpose in life, I think Robby put us onto them? Later Vamo's were made of tinfoil! and now you can still buy copies of the v2 but they're still made of tinfoil What else? Loads really, the best quality atties and mods were still hand made by specialists in the UK and Greece and cost a hundred quid plus each, Provari's were the elitists 15w mod apparently, at £150 a pop (there's still 3 in our household and I'm deffo not elitist!) a year later China started to catch on, and FT et al started selling copies of everything and anything that could be copied for a fraction of the price and the clone market became a market force. I remember dual coil atties being released, this was when us mainstream plebs discovered clouds! It was mild fog by today's standards but it was blimmin cloudy compared to what we had before! Dual coil aerotank V1 anyone? Haha with that curved bell shaped drip tip! lol! That's 2 years six months in vaping! I've got box mods that fart Vamo's for fun, what will the next 2 and a half years bring I wonder?!?

Delighted you're still mixing and enjoying PVC poochops . . . . how we quested for a VC homebrew then, not much has changed there possibly. I remember Arry Tanks, Vivi Nova's, Lavatubes and the sheer stress of buying anything GG related especially . . . . the hassle of buying any ' quality ' gear was epic then! Innovative, affordable and reliable equipment has been a huge advancement that we all benefit from and can enjoy now.

the 1st ecig i got after finding this forum was a itaste vv and a mini protank and more or less i stopped smoking fags over night and they still work i have tried to stay away from shineyitus and dont think i have done to bad spesh compared to some i loved mechs because you coiled them to what you liked about 1 ohm on the old kayfun and .2 ont the oww ecigs are for girls crowd (few drops of 24 mg on it soon shut em up sort of ) have given in and got a regulated box now a sig 75 and as it says 75 watts of power which to my mind is about the max you should put on a good 650 batt i realy dont think subtanks have done the vapeing community any favours by all means use them out side but not inside the pub ect use something more suited to the environment like a protank unfortunately its all about clouds and look at me for the teenagers, dont get me wrong i do it but out side the equipment for vapeing has come a long way in last 2 years but if we dont self regulate the cloudage the government will

Posterity and halycon vaping days lured me into buying a V2 provari off classies last night... Awe yes. My first 'mod' (clone of a screwdriver made by some chap in Nottingham) - survived 2 weeks backpacking in the highlands . It was only about £20 and all I could afford (and my only mod). Then tanks (carto tanks) and my first modding/nic OD experience - please don't mention the £30 carto tank I got from Big Daddy Vapes that I killed in about 2 weeks And my first VV mod - again home build but poor quality so I got it fixed and sold it! Boy Variable power has always eaten juice LOL. It did 4 years ago - it still does now LOL And this forum.......feel the love .......and the insanity of some of us!!!

Still got an original penelope, cost a fortune then. Remembering faffing about with the nores/res/nores wires as well until FT started selling them.
This prompted me to open my old vaping kit box and found a lava tube, can remember getting very excited when it first arrived. Then along came the Russian & Kayfuns, still got a load of them in the box too.
Wonder what we'll be on when the DNA 200 goes in the box.

Lol awesome thread , I've still got this in my draw I do watch some of the older grim green videos and the technology then makes me chuckle. Those were our first ecigs! Cost me £45 each!!! I got them from bargain vapour in Ireland and they had disposable atomisers that cost about a four quid each and lasted about a week, remember you'd fill the plastic tank with about a mil of juice? When you changed flavours you'd get some really interesting mixes with the residue of the previous juice haha The cost of them atomiser heads meant I soon moved us on to something more affordable it was a ce5+ clearo from Alba vapours cost about £6.50 and it was a much better vape, then I discovered FT who sold a pack of ten for about £15 and that's what we used for a good few months before discovering the Vamo and the Vivi nova that's when we really started to rock n roll!. Recoiling Vivi nova heads with the help of everyone on the forum was my first foray into building, Silica Wick anyone? Haha

Do you honestly still make them MeV? I've still got my Hercules and my Ithaka and there's another resnores atty I can't even remember the name of! I keep them for nostalgias sake they were bloody good atomisers, still are, but I haven't built them for ages, kayfuns kind of put them on the subs bench

Could never afford a penny, they were something else though weren't they, proper machine shop stuff for serious vapers! Didn't they come out about 5 years ago? Possibly longer I'm not sure. You used to have to join lists and wait months to get kit like that!

I just checked out my old PMs and found that I bought the penelope from bluemagnum on the 13th October 2012. Also discovered an even older PM when I bought my first 6.5ml cartomizer from DiscoDes in July 2012 Perpetua is in there as well for some 501 atomizers for tasting juices, think I still have a few somewhere How time flies

I haven't built mine in years, nor the Odysseus and a couple of brand new Vapor Freak Terminators that I've stashed away, along with upgraded bases and spare ceramics for them all. And, miles of silver no res wire .
Sold my original iAtty, then went on to buy a Rainbow Heaven clone - still not used! Got a brand new Goodsense 306 DCA somewhere . . . . heady days of non smoking excitement and extravagant, excessive purchases back then for me. The excessive purchasing compulsion hasn't changed much at least before anyone mentions it.
