My issue with the crown tank (TC coils)

Hi everyone!

I'm having some problems with my Uwell Crown tank,

When I first got it the dual 0.25 coils worked fine up until I got some Ni200 Coils for TC..

I got some Ni200 coils 2 days ago and have had one installed in the tank as soon as I got them, the problem I'm having is last night I got a dirty taste from it, a burnt sort of taste as if it had burnt out, I checked the coil and the wire is all burnt up.. I have it on at around 30-40watts on my evic mini and about 480+ temp. I put a new coil in last night and it still tasted horrid. I went to a vape shop (they never heard of the crown tank) and they said its burnt out, I put a new one in and it taste ok'ish.. I have been priming the coils.. edit: really bad burnt taste on this new coil now too! am I wasting a pack of coils lol?

Should my coils be burning out after a day and a halfs use? Is there something I am doing wrong?


There is also a strange mark that appeared on the tank.. I bathed the tanks parts in isopropyl alcohol over night to get rid of the horrible burnt smell/taste (didn't work) its almost like a rainbow mark but I guess thats due to bathing it?

Just left my tank while typing this and its tasting a bit burnt again on a brand new coil that has had 10 maybe 15 puffs..

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have a Evic mini but is it set to TC mode and not wattage mode. Also I would suggest around 410f. I'm sure an Evic mini owner will be along soon revoke

that doesnt sound good at all.
only got my tank on monday and so far loving it but not using TC or ni200 coils.

where did you buy the coils and are they authentic or clones.

i did try TC using istick40TC and freemax starre tank and as far as i can remember my wattage showed max 40w all the time and then i just changed Fahrenheit/centigrade. does yours let you change the wattage and also the TC

what juice are you using. and when you prime the coil do you just put a drop on each hole 2 or 3 times and 2-3 drops down the top of the coil then let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

i honestly have no idea what it could be but hopefully someone else will.

I had it for a week now and it has been doing me good
I got the coils from Myepack & authentic I hope

It does let me change the wattage and the temp thats why I kept it at around 30w-40w, I saw one on a site the other day about Ni200 handling 80w-120w, could it be because its too low?

I have tried the VGOD juice and Grape drank by ruthless, I have tried letting it sit for 5mins after the cotton had been soaked with grape drank but that only allowed me to have 10-15 puffs. I also started really low and worked its way up 2mins each time.

Me neither I hope I can sort it soon I've been without it all day and trying to not give in to you know what haha..

revoke  Myepack don't do Uwell Crown 0.25ohm NI200 coils, only 0.15ohm. Think you may be misreading the box and that the heads are Kanthal. Try setting it in watt mode. Myepack

they are authentic then if they are from myepack. thats were i buy almost all my gear from.

it could well be the wattage is too low but strange that its tasting burnt as that normally points too too high temps. im using the pre installed 0.5 dual rap and thats recommends 30-80watt
at 30-40 its too much flavor but at 46-48 its much better and when my istick100 arrives im going to push it to 60-70w
that is using strawberry fields.

ive just tried my first one hit wonder milk man in the tank and WOW! this juice is epic.

well spotted sydsut, i never thought of checking that.

i did look for replacement 0.5 coils but couldnt find them either.

searching on the top banner i still cant find the replacements but im bookmarking your link now, cheers. still doesnt say if they are single or double wrap.

Sorry I mis typed, I meant the 0.25 dual coil was fine for a week(wattage mode) until I switched to the Ni200 which is 0.15 you are correct.(temp mode Ni)

MrDJ I did just put a 0.25 dual coil in as my tank came with 2 of those and a dual 0.5 too.. at first it was going a lil burnt, I left it for a bit, had another go, still a burny taste then thought F it if its burnt its burnt and vaped it like mad on 40+ watts and its coming through ok, but as for the Ni200s still being burnt within no time

Also MrDJ did you know theres a new update allows the Mini to hit 75watts

i would just stick with the wattage mode then. ive got two ni200 coild for freemax i dont think i will ever use.

ive never even seen the Mini so not sure about updates.

In the crown tank instructions it says (150degrees-350degrees C) for the Ni200 coils :/ I don't know haha I'll stay on wattage mode for now,
I was vaping at 450+ but thats F not Celsius

google tells me thats 250C in real temperatures that your setting as the temp limit???, way too high i vape TC depending on the device @190-210C

and are u using Tni and not Tti??

Have you tried turning the temperature right down and firing it to see if the temperature control kicks in ?
I don't have one of these myself but most TC mods give some indication on the screen of temperature measured or limit reached ?
At least that would rule out a faulty mod.

Oh, and when you fit the atty on, do you lock in the resistance.
Just wondering if the resistance of the coil is going up when you fire it then when you fire it again its providing more power second/third time around ?

charliehorse Hi yes I have started from the lowest and made my way up, it does say on the screen protection limit reached or something I can't remember, but the screen does say what temp the device is currently at.

And I do lock the resistance in the ohm never changes, it does change once the fire button is hit but I think that happens on all evic minis. all reviews and both of mine do anyway
