UPS Import Tax

How does this work. My Provari has arrived in Dundee and states tax/duties due. I've logged into UPS but can't see a way to pay.

whats the crack ?

Ah looks good, needs a pin though, do they email that or do I have to ask for it.

They will take cash on delivery mate, I've not yet found a function to pay prior to delivery.
FedEx on the other hand will deliver and then send an invoice through the post

Yea not sure about UPS but arron knows haha! parcelforce is they send you a invoice in the post first before sending your item out.

edit; is parcelforce even still around? haven't heard of them or seen any big red vans about recently :L

DHL left me a message saying they were going to deliver a parcel shortly and to go to there website with a code that they gave in the message but I couldn't get the page to work right so I rang them and they took the code and I payed over the phone then sent receipt in an email.

No as there's no options to get a code. Might have to see what happens when it turns up and see if I can pay cash or might call them today and see if I can pay upfront.

So you can pay by card over phone once item arrives at final delivery depot.
£26 to pay and it may arrive at Dundee today as it left Edinburgh at 0700.
Delivery should be tomorrow.

Well nearly, that's what I was told before it reached the final delivery depot. After it reached the FDD and I rang to pay they then told me I couldn't pay over the phone until it's out for delivery 
If nothing else I am persistent so I'll be ringing to pay in the morning if it moves to out for delivery but if no joy then it'll be cash on delivery.

seems strange you can't pay at any point as soon as they know what's due

I cannot remember for certain who shipped one of the Kangxin flasks i bought last year but think it was DHL and despite the bad bit of having to pay they were really on the ball , invoicing by email as soon as they recieved the item in China, paid online, and in my grubby paws within 3 days, bloody impressive in my book.

How bizarre.


My only experience of Courier type deliveries when there's excess to pay has been with DHL, back in the days of our group buys with Macca, well efficient they were as car147 says.

I guess they all operate different systems - some better than others.

I'm sure you'll have it in your mitts by the weekend though Greg, one way or the other.
