Have just heard that a local nhs board is going to review its smoking policy to make it more e-cig friendly, after PHE review published! Hurray! E cigs currently banned on site, but likely to change in next few months. Fabulous!

fwiw in my limited experience of a few overnight stays in one hospital the clinical staff are on our side, i was vaping in my bed but did so as inconspicuously as i could though my timing was awful and i caught the attention of every nurse n doctor in the place, all gave me a knowing look and simply turned away ignoring all the signs explicitly forbidding it..

I suspect that if i had made a song and dance about flouting the rules i would have forced them into action against me. But as it was with me holding up my coat and pretending to root about in the pockets while i tried to hide behind it and vape i was left in peace to make a fool of myself, my jacket and its empty pockets is bloody fascinating

Pity the rest of Scotland's NHS is not of the same mind.
E-cigs are totally banned in all NHS buildings and grounds apart from Lothian NHS.

But I still vape in the hospital grounds cos half the patients still smoke stinkies. So I vape!!! - even at Raigmore - alchy going to outpatients pulls out a stinkie. What can they do legally? Not a lot:)

I think there are national discussions going on in public health which will influence all nhs future policy.
