I managed to drop my VT40 yesterday it's never been out of the house before the top now has a gap between the casing and the top where the 510 connector sits. To make it worse when I screw an atty on it widens the gap has anyone had one apart, is there anything to watch for, I lurve my VT40 it's the nicest thing I have vape-wise so I want to try to salvage it.

Ok just answered my own question, they are easy to take apart and quite nicely made when you get into them, but now I am wondering is it a genuine DNA40 chip? You can see quite clearly it is marked Vt40 on the chip??

Its not hard to get to bits once you take the screws out. Just slide the c frame off making sure you dont trap any wires. Sounds like you might have broke the internals of the 510 as they are not the best out there.

Thanks @windows got the bugger apart I wasn't trying hard enough, the 510 seems ok surprisingly though it is weird and I think it will need replacing at some point.
I think when I dropped it, it has shifted the bottom end slightly out of true which is moving the top end out if you get me, I think it might just be live with it for now.
The chip is another matter it just doesn't look like the DNA40 chip though it vapes just fine.

It is a Eveolv real DNA 40 board, the other board on top is a custom sister board for the buttons, Fire Up and Down, same way vaper Shark do their rDNA mods

It wont look right as they have to piggyback the genuine chip onto another board in order to get the button layout, so if its supposed to be genuine it probably is.

Thanks -V- I did wonder if that was the case, was just a bit surprised they had gone to the trouble of doing that.
