Sorry I have posted this before but cant find it. I need to add nicotine to a 0 mix premade to make it 12%. How much nic do I need to add to a 100ml?
Cheers

tsoko Thought you were talking about 'p2p' lending for a moment, as I'm switching between the two forums. Although I know it will all end in tears (for me). Apologies for interrupting the thread.

I presume you mean 1.2% or 12mg/ml.
So to get 100ml of 12mg/ml juice you need 1200mg of nicotine in total. But you have 100ml already and adding the nic will up the volume. 17ml of nic at 72mg/ml will give you 1200mg of nic so you now have 117ml which will give you 10.25mg/ml nic.
If this isn't close enough add another 3ml of nic and you now have 120ml of juice containing 20mlx72mg/ml = 1440mg of nicotine which is 12mg/ml.

I'm confused! Been mixing for ages and still do it bottle by bottle, I want to make up a large amount of base, say 250ml so I can just add concentrates as needed. Can anyone explain how to use the ecigvape calculator to do this. Hope this makes sense. I want to finished amounts to be 12mg strength, I will be using 72mg Nic.

Do you always use the same ratio of flavouring for your mixes leroy4bz ? If you do, then just input the volume you'd like to make into a standard eliquid calculator . . . . omit the flavour and add that as when, what you require. You'll also need to tell it, whether your base is VG or PG and what finished ratios/strength you'd like. Have you tried using the forum calculator: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/page/calculator( As you add flavour options, then further lines appear. ) EcigVape have a variety of calculator options if you like the look of that: ecigvape.com/#anc_calcsIf you don't use the same flavour ratio - then making a large stock of base won't be of much benefit to you.

Thanks Perpetua, I understand now. I've never used the forum calc, I use e- liquid recipe as it holds all my mixes. So what I need to do is make a few different strength base mixes as they vary from 10% to 25%, the 12mg finish doesn't need to be super accurate, so I'll look at my mixes and make a base that's an average, and a few bases that I know I use regularly. Does that sound right to you?

Does that sound right to you? Yes . . . . just make super sure you label clearly which is what leroy4bz, whilst the finished strength might not be so important - your end PG/VG ratios will also be affected if the flavouring goes into the wrong bottles with that wide a range of percentages.

This trend of using percent for nicotine strength is getting a large number of users confused 1mg = 1 part per 1000 1% = i part per 100 parts For example : 12mg = 1.2%-- and is best expressed as 12mg (1,2%) to avoid confusion if you did mean 12% it would be very clear if expressed as 120mg ( 12%)

So how much nicotine do I need to add in 100ml. Some say 17ml others say 20ml
