About time I said hello and thank you all for your extremely helpful posts I've read over the last 3 months since I gave up the 30yr rollie habit following the biggest scare of my life. Started off with a couple of Evods and stepped up a little with a Kanger Topbox Nano in Jan from Vapeland who were great. I'm mostly vaping liquids from Rejuiced at the mo, enjoying their Sweetleaf RY4 as an all day vape, Cinnamon Danish, Donut with Creamy Vanilla and Banana Nut Bread, thanks to reviews and links found here on AAEC. I won't be a very prolific poster as I have a neurological illness which makes thinking straight, absorbing information and writing coherent sentences extremely hard work and tiring at the best of times. Hence my following question: I was wanting to start making my own ejuice and I'm feeling a bit panicked about not being able to learn about and buy everything needed fast enough before the new TPD rules come into force in May. In short I wondered if I'm correct in thinking I can simply order a large quantity of nicotine with PG now to beat the deadline and then relax, take my time learning about mixing before then buying all the VG, PG, flavour concentrates and equipment etc as they won't be governed by TPD because they're nicotine free? I've reduced my intake to 6mg and more than happy to devote a large area of the freezer for storage to last a very long time Hope I've made sense and haven't come across a bit blunt/direct - sometimes I just have to blurt it out while it's still in my mind. Thanks in advance, Mike

Welcome Mikev The only item you may, and that's a may have difficulty getting after May will be 72mg nic in a decent volume. I would say get a litre or two in 500ml bottles and put the unused bottles in your freezer. A lot of us have frozen nic stored away. The other school of thought is that it will be readily available, but that has yet to be tested, so my advice would be to have some stored. If as hoped it will still be available, what you have frozen won't go to waste. It just means you won't need to buy any for a while.

Welcome MikevYes prepare with nic mate I use piratesvape.uk as they do freezer ready packs and Ive never had problems with their nic. There are cheaper out there but I like the convenience of well sealed 150ml amber bottles. There's some great recipes here and as above a lot of help on tap. Don't worry about your illness as we will all understand mate. Relax and enjoy as this is a great forum. It must be good because even I ain't been kicked off yet

I agree with Bobsbeer I get a freezer pack of 1 litre of 72 nic you get 4 x 250ml glass bottles which can go straight in your freezer. I get this from everthing eliquid who also do the PG and VG. Where are you based Mikev it may be that you can get local help in setting yourself up as a DIY mixer to the forum - lots of help and advice on here

Hello Mikev and welcome to the forum As has been already said, Nic base can be stored in the freezer, and for a long long time at that. It may or may not still be easily available after the TPD comes into force, at this stage no one really knows for sure. Everything else needed for mixing your own will still be freely available after the TPD.

welcome along..
as said above stockpiling a litre or 2 of nic base in the freezer should see you through the initial TPD(20) restrictions, I am hopeful that by the time my reserves have exhausted that either i will have stopped vaping or a non-eu source has been found and verified..
there will be a 12 month period in which sellers are allowed to sell on existing stocks held.. but i would expect prices to rise when we enter that period.
+1 for the endorsement of pirete vapes Nic base, also darkstar sell a good product at a very reasonable price but it will arrive in plastic bottles and as said above amber glass is the preferred container for storage..
please feel free to post any Q's you have, we all started vaping in the dark knowing little and found help and direction in here, the golden rue is that there is No such thing as a silly Question.
