Good evening my fellow Vapours. I have a question for any with experience with using Clapton coils. I am using 2x 0.45 ohm Clapton kanthal coils on a Aromizer RDA by SteamCrave that comes out at 0.4ohms on a Joytech Cuboid 150. Trying around 23/28 watts. No temperature control that I am aware of is on as its just in power mode. The issue is I do not seem to be getting any decent vapour production, wicking is fine (same way as I would do on any other RDA and works fine), coils seem to be setup correctly? And the coil had no hotspots with a nice even glow before wicking. this is the first time I have used the SteamCrave RDA fresh from the shop and the first time using pre made coils. Could it be the the RDA?, maybe the lack of air holes at the bottom? I took out the "flavour" cyclone thing from the Steam Crave and put the straight through pipe on the RDA (cloud chaser) but made no real difference. Any ideas?

I was wondering if anyone else had used this RDA and maybe If it was using the Clapton setup, figured it should have more flavour & cloud production.

jakethevapesomething isn't right, if your using 2 x 0.45 ohm coils your mod should be reading it as 0.225 (maybe 0.2) and I would expect that to require around 70>80 watts to make any appreciable amount of vapour. I don't have the mod or the RDA you're using but doing a similar build on the crius (also dual coil Clapton using bought coils) on the koopor plus that's what I found. since then I've been building my own claptons closer to the 1ohm mark to give me a dual build of around 0.5 ohms and running them down at 35>40 watts (much more battery friendly) perhaps you did the same thing as me and fitted only one coil with it on the mod and switched on, in which case removing the atty push the fire button and then screw it back on should make it recheck the resitence and give the correct reading

as said above 2 coils half's the resistance so try the atty on diff mod if poss if not do the pressing power button with no atty on the mod to try and get the correct reading that is one of my fave builds (2 claptons around 0.4 ohms so you end up with 0.2 ohms)but it eats batts as it runs best around 70 watts you can prob get away with 60 watts and it will fog up a room in no time but you have to get the mod to read the resistance right because bad things can happen it might be worth removing the coils and checking that the empty atty show as no atomiser then trying 1 coil to check the resistance and when the 2nd is fitted the shown resistance should half

You can see the coil on the left is not connected as well as the one on the right as the one on the right has changed colour when pulsing.

Yup think you may be correct, I pulled it all out and started afresh and seems to be much better. Tried some of my Decadence Chateau with it and much more clouds / vapour around 60W. When I picked up these Clapton pre made coils I also grabbed a pack of twisted Kanthal coils, and they produce some amazing results in my Nixon. Totally hooked on RDAs now
