I've heard of NiFe and Nickel blackening with dry burning but it's the first we've heard of it with normal use.

I like Nichrome. It's a complete joy to respool too

P11 will be the next wire. Higher Fe content and more than double the resistivity. The plan being to suggest NiFe30 for single and P11 for dual coil but we'll see there's a suitable P11 size to use for single too

Yeah the nickel leaches black into my wicks horribly.
Nife30 not quite so bad but still
I had no problem building a dual with Nife30 though .

Really glad to see the Varitube back , I won't use FD 510 I don't like the design, but I have read so many negative posts about quality problems I just wouldn't touch them.

Thanks, yeah it's a bit of a balancing act sourcing new products and keeping the old ones in stock. Hopefully any gaps in supply shouldn't be as big now.

I like the compactness of the V1s, you can even get 14 AWG silicone insulated in them if you drill the bottom piece.
