Should Button jump ship and go to Williams, or take a risk he is wanted by McLaren? Tricky decision for Jensen. McLaren seem to be slowly improving so probably better chance of getting to the front with McLaren than Williams, yet he may be stuffed if he waits for McLaren to make up their mind. Although loyalty should count for something as he has stuck by McLaren during the dire times of late with Honda.

I hope he stays, Button and Alonso have both behaved well considering the challenges they have had to endure the past few seasons. Now things are heading in the right direction it would be pretty bad on McLaren if they were to drop Button, yes he's no as aggressive behind the wheel, but by christ he knows how to behave in the public eye, and does not spit the dummy everytime something does not go to his liking.

An eventful GP yesterday. Max Verstappen though, is he too reckless? Some of his moves on the track are barely within the rules, and in my opinion a bit dangerous. I know he is young and eager, but you need to respect the other drivers to some extent whilst racing them.
Hamilton's third place was unexpected to me too. I thought he'd get points, but not that many.
Nice to see McLaren getting their act together too, but, all in all, it seems that just as the playing field levels out a bit, the new rules for next season will negate that.
I wonder who will be the next dominant team.

Verstappen is doing what they all do when they are young, dangerous - only the move defending from Kimi IMO and I was amazed that Ted Krivitz blamed him for the first crash, 75% Vettel, 25% Verstappen , 0% Kimi IMO & the Ch4 lots opinion.
Good to see McLaren near the sharp end, massive shame those Red Bull wingers lobbing for more focus on aero got the regs changes before McLaren can reap the rewards.
Red Bull will be the next dominant team, they had the rules changed to suit them, bad move IMO as more aero = less over taking and a larger divide between the have and have lesses.

Tend to agree with your post Jon ( VapingBad). The first crash, IMO, was Vettel's fault. Max was taking a risk cutting into the inside of Kimi, but Kimi had to give him room (rules) and couldn't because Vettel turned too soon. Admittedly, Vettel couldn't see Max on the inside. The result... racing incident. I'm not so sure it is only Red Bull's lobbying for the aero change though. Ferrari wanted it too, and Bernie loves them like his own kids. I hope you are wrong about RB dominance after the changes, but they do have the best chassis, so you could be right.

I hope you are wrong about RB dominance after the changes, but they do have the best chassis, so you could be right. Mutterschutz threatening to leave lots of times and lots of complaints about it being an engine formula, changes this size favour the rich teams and these play to RBs strengths more than any other team. Ferrari's engine is now almost on par with Mercs and they just lost James Alison so they don't have as much to gain. Merc have done the best with the current regs so nothing to gain for them and the only other rich team McLaren are just getting the act together with this car. It will just be a massive expense for all the other teams so soon after the last major regulation change. I hope RB don't dominate either, but they seem the most likely to me. IMO RB have always played a hard game campaigning for regs, remember the double deck defuser a relatively cheap source of down force that didn't suit them they got banned in a year. Vs the computerised burning flue in the exhaust to feed the exhaust-blown defuser to get more down-force in corners which was expensive and never going to relate to any other form of motoring. But RB and Vetel mastered it, F1 kept it for years and IMO it was a significant part of Vetels dominance. Webber couldn't get on with it as well as Vetel and once it went Ricardo showed Vetel a clean pair of heals.

I love how Massa's replacement claims he's in the sport on merit.
Keep believing that son, it has nothing to do with Daddy's billions...
I've got a super licence, so I haven't bought my way into the sport. Hmm. They gave Crashtor a super licence so they can't be that picky.

Motor racing is a rich man's sport www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/17961181/williams-drive-not-just-father-moneyI like that there young guns pushing the driver market, some drivers stay far too long and many still never get a decent car when they get to F1. Ferrari is the oddest team for drivers, I thought Kimi was a one hit wonder who got a championship because Lewis and Fonsie were in the same team, but he has driven well this year while his team mate is becoming Mr Moany, not saying Kimi is not good, he is fast, but just not as good as his rep.

I work at the side of my house, it's a 30 second walk. It is great to see Ross back involved in the sport, he is the one person I would trust to be impartial (despite his Ferarri/Mercedes links)

I haven't seen Stroll drive, so I could be wrong about him, but he was with the Ferrari Driver Academy until daddy bought him into Williams.
Would they have let him go if he was destined for the top?
