Makes me want to go back to cigalikes,it's getting too complicated. As VapingBad said yorkshireman .....it's actually not difficult at all. And if the OP hadn't asked for tech specs this thread wouldn't be full of graphs and flowcharts

All great info guys, this has given me a bit of a fast track understanding and the venn diagram helped a lot, things have changed. I have ordered a dna200 from Windows but will be using Boge carto's for now as I just ordered 125 of them. Am I correct in thinking any coil material will be temp controlled as long as the dna knows the metals in use?

The common coil materials for Temperature Control are Ni200 (nickel), Stainless Steel, Titanium*, and possibly nichrome. Kanthal has too low a Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) to be used at present (the changes in resistance with temperature are too small to accurately control by measuring its fluctuation). Depending on the mod (I don't have a DNA200) you need to select the material from the mod's menu, or enter its custom properties. VapingBad (or others) may be able to shed light on what's involved for the DNA200. (Whilst I currently use a TC mod, I have not yet tried this facility yet, I just run it in Power mode ). * Some are concerned over the toxicity of Titanium oxides that may form on the coil.

No, not cartos as they will be Nichrome or Kanthal and do not change resistance enough with temperature, both alloys being developed to be stable at high temps. I would start with a rebuildable tank like a Kayfun Lite, not the new Kayfun 3 and Ni200, NiFe30 (from StealthVape) or Titanium. IMO Stainless steel has such a low TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) it makes it harder to get up and running with temp limiting.

Thanks Postmodern Smoking and VapingBad I do have quite a collection of rebuildables to play with but will stick with Boge until I get my head round the dna and just keep to low watts for now.
