When you use pre-coiled FT coils, do they come with both legs wrapped in the same direction? (like you'd make/buy for a RDA).

Do you unwind a leg and if so, what's your method? Last time I unwound a leg (for a Kayfun Monster) the coil self-disintegrated on test fire. Since then, I've been wary of using premade coils.

Aye! Stick a needle through coil, hold it and gently bend leg in opposite direction. I unwind rather than wind on. Tried to do it without the needle but it ended up looking like a dead robotic spider!
Screwdriver, needle, anything you can fit through the hole. Gentle is the key

sorry back to the OP, I just trim the ends of the wick level with the base, prime them and cut so that they just sit in the rebate at top of the channel.

Wicking advice is fairly pointless without stating the pg vg ratio. I don't get dry hits, but have wick stuffed all the way down to the base. Using 80/20 that works fine.

I use 65/70/75/80 non-AQ VG homebrew, I could probably set them up better if I stuck to one percentage but considering that the tanks only take a couple of ml I just pick up which ever bottle of VC is at hand.
Seems pretty versatile in that respect but as Most of my juices are 12mg and there is less of a tendancy to chain vape the wick dry.
I had to spend a lot more time getting the right setup with a Subtank RBA than the Serpent mini.

Did this one just over a month ago, it has stayed on the same clear 70vg unsweetened juice. Honeydew/Absinthe/koolada, very clean non-yellowing, non- coil clogging ect.
Although its a mod/atty combo I only use when taking the dog for a walk its still on the same rayon wick. I've opened it up a few times to check but its been pretty much as is.

I can't really get my head round all this *what pg/vg%*, "fanned out" wick etc. If you get the wick right, it won't leak. When you wick it once and it works, why change the style/pg/vg? I use high vg, but recently changed to avg, purely so it's easier to mix. It's far less viscous, yet doesn't leak with how I wick. It works on a vaccuum system, it doesn't matter how viscous the juice is.

I've had a fair few tanks, and while they may all seem vastly different, the wicking is almost always the same/similar and not why they leak. Some of mine leak sometimes. I then know I wicked it wrong.

The other reasons for leaks may be o-rings or cracks.

No offence intended to anyone here, especially the frustrated, but if it leaks and the seals are fine, you wicked it wrong.

I found that putting 2 strips of credit card under the coil when fitting and pulling the leads down hold the wires in the perfect position while tightening, that made it much less faff to fit a coil for me. (0.4 mm/26 AWG Ni200 & 26 AWG twisted Ti)

Just got 2 today, not that impressed TBH, not bad, just nothing to shout about IMO, the flavour is OK but muted and needs a lot of power to get any flavour so the only drip-tip I don't get burnt lips or a pool of condensation with after 2 or 3 puffs is the delrin Aromanizer V2 one. The connections could be easier to us if they did something to stop the wire moving when tightening. It is early days and there is undoubted more to be got out of this tank.

E: at least part of my flavour issue is bled through from the last flavour despite 30 mins in the ultrasonic with hot water, degreaser and 2 sterident tablets.
