Impartial Advice for a newbie

Hiya,

im hoping you could gve me some advice as to what starter kit to buy, after getting lectured the other day by the doc i need to quit the cigarettes, i tried one of the disposables a few weeks back and was rather impressed with how it worked on me so the theory is to get something decent and hopefully it will get me off cigs.

I have done nothing but look and read and all i'm doing is getting myself more and more confused.

The starter kit i have seen is a Riva 1100 Deluxe kit will that be ok ? i dont want to get something only to find it no use.

I've also read that a cartomiser is better than an atomiser and cartridge is this right ?

Can i use a usb wall charger that came with my phone instead of buying one or are they a different voltage ?

I am also unclear on what strength liquid to get as well so any advice on that would be great. ( 25- 30 regular cigs is what i have at the mo), Which would be the best flavour liquid to start with recommendations please.

What spare bits and bobs do i need ?

I have got £70 maximum to get me going.

I smoked 20 a day and find 18 or 20 mg juice is suiting me right now. Try some of the pik n mix from Vape Escape in 5ml bottles to find what you like. Most people find they prefer non-tobacco flavours

I think that starter kit is a great one. Ask the supplier to change the atomisers and cartridges to cartos (cartomisers) and you IMO you are right, they are better.


I can't really advise on liquid, taste is so personal, just go with your gut instinct, but only get small quantites to try out to start with.
I would go for a medium strength to start with, something like a 18mg

You will also need a drip tip, they are cheap and that's it. Start vaping properly

I agree with ONedayillquit - & especially asking for the atomisers to be swapped for cartomisers.

Yes, you should be able to use your phone USB wall plug - but just to be 100% certain, can you tell us the voltage of it?

As a 25-30 day smoker, I think you will need 24mg e-liquid.

I definately think you should get the pic n mix juice so that you can try a few flavours, its so hard to recommend flavours because we are all so different, and like already mentioned, dont forget the discount code

You cant go wrong with the kit recommended, the Riva is very good to start out with and beyond

Not sure but I think you will be ok with a med strength liquid, the flavors......., well that is really what takes your fancy, I haven't tried any of the tobacco flavors so cant advise on those, but if you are adventurous, then there are loads to choose from.

hi and welcome from another newbie,i am using the riva 1100 on day nine of no nasties,and no inclination for one since i got my kit.

i was a 40 a day habit so using the 30mg juices just not ,but did buy the pic n mix first which is only 20mg and i did manage,hth.x
