I'm not sure what I'm wittering on about really - but I did used to get extremely bored smoking, the routine of it all was like a ball and chain. But I still kept going even though I wasn't really getting much pleasure from it.
Vaping is kept fresh for me, by the constant changing of flavours . . . . which doesn't necessarily work for everyone I know.
Hi GunJack, I smoked for 49 years and I don't remember every being bored with it, but then again, I never joined a Forum where anybody would be interested in whether I was bored with it or excited by my attitude towards all things Vaping.
For the last couple of years, Vaping has become like the Smoking I used to do. It is just "something I do". I have the set up I like and the couple of flavours I like and just like the other 6 or 7 Vapers who live around here, Vaping is very much just the safer alternative to Smoking. Period. It is not a hobby or a pastime, it is not up for discussion with other Vapers unless it is a passing comment in the street, it is as normal as the clothes we wear or the work we do.
Really the main difference between these fellow Vapers and myself is that they are NOT on any Forums. They "just Vape". They buy their supplies in B&M shops and probably only see other flavours or other MODs when they go into these shops, in much the same way as we did when we went to buy our Fags.
Too me, "your boredom" has nothing to do with your actual Vaping and everything to do with your perception of other Vapers you read about on this Forum who appear to still be excited by what they are doing in the world of Vaping.
The only time that I change my Vaping Flavours and try something different is when I am on Holiday, where everything else also changes. The clothes I wear, the day to day life cycle changes and my Vaping flavours change to Fruity Flavours. However, once home again and back to "old clothes and porridge" I also return to the warm and comforting taste of my bog standard flavours.
So are your REALLY bored with your own Vaping, or are you trying to chase a perception that does not actually exist?

I agree with a lot of what you have to say lobeydosser but vaping is very different from smoking. I can only think of two major innovations in cigarette smoking in my lifetime: filter tips and king size whereas vaping has new innovations almost every day. While a lot of vapers are content to find a set up that suits them and have no interest in vaping as a hobby, there are others who become obsessive with the hobby and buy every new mod and topper that comes onto the market. In between these extremes are those who have a set up that in most respects suits them but have become bored with that particular set up and are seeking something similar but a bit better if you know what I mean. I may very well be wrong but I feel that GunJack falls into this group and this is maybe why he is "bored, bored bored".

This, in a nutshell, and very well put @yinyang I have tried mechs (not impressed) and sub-ohm vaping (not for me), so dedicated mtl. As tim stated earlier there hasn't been much development in mtl recently, it's all sub-ohm and vg juice (with, if I may say, the majority of flavours I wouldn't touch with a bargepole ). I went round vapefest looking for a different flavour juice 1. as an alternative to the juice I vape 95% of the time and 2. as a possible now'n'again alternative - for the second year running was totally underwhelmed and didn't find anything I could honestly say did it for me As I stated before, I am happy with my kit and juice, it just gets a bit "overly-routine" sometimes, hence the boredom factor - change as good as a rest and all that But when looking for that change and drawing a blank sometimes it gets a bit disheartening - not so much to ever go back to smoking, I should add. However, someone may, just may suggest something that I've missed, not properly considered, etc. that does the trick As for chasing perception, sorry lobeydosser but you're wide of the mark there. In the nicest possible way I don't really care how or what anyone else vapes, the beauty of vaping is the almost infinite combinations so that everyone can find something that suits them - some, like me, it's a relatively narrow range of kit/juice, for others it's multiple styles of kit/juice changing monthly/daily/hourly.. Sorry to go on, I'll get back in my box now

GunJack I've used the 1.5ohm SSOCC coils in a Kanger Toptank Mini with 70% VG with no problems - it's a nice MTL vape. I was reading a similar thread on another forum and there was a suggestion to get inspired by drooling over some vape porn FASTTECH VAPE PORN

I guess I worded my last comments wrongly.
For every Vaper who is on a Forum, there are probably 50 or even a 100 out there who are not members of any Forum. Although they are probably aware that there are other makes and other MODs, they have found a set up and some flavours that suit them and they are happy with their lot. At least that is what they tell me. Some will probably have been on here or other Forums to read and learned what Vaping is all about before going out and buying their equipment in B&M shops, but they have never had any inclination to actually join a Forum or take part in any discussions about e-cigs etc.
<<<I agree with a lot of what you have to say lobeydosser but vaping is very different from smoking. I can only think of two major innovations in cigarette smoking in my lifetime: filter tips and king size whereas vaping has new innovations almost every day. >>>
Most of us bought our cigarettes at the Corner Shop and never gave any thoughts to buying them from anywhere else, but @yinyang if we had had a Forum for Smokers and access to the same world-wide market that we vapers have, we would have learned, aye and yearned, for the many 100s of different types and tastes of cigarettes that are available out there. The finest cigarette I ever tasted came from the Himalayas, was hand made and simply divine!!!! Oh and one bought them loose in a paper poke, 20 at a time.
My whole point is that we could spend our lives chasing the utopia of Vaping, or, we could sit back and accept that what we have will "do the noo". Perhaps the search is more important than the goal. Perhaps the grass will always be greener on the other side of the hill.
Vaping will always be the best thing to have happened in my life in recent times, but the major part of my Vaping is it having given me the ability to continue my nicotine habit whilst also giving me the how and the means to pursue the many hobbies that smoking had made unaffordable.

I get bored GunJack, oddly enough repeatedly on a Saturday early evening when I simply cannot settle on a flavour I want or the coils I want aren't wicked and my eyes and hands are tired, tis very odd but it does pass over. I vape a multitude of flavours over several tanks during the day as it is the only way that I keep the cravings at bay even now. I have tried many tanks and set ups but come back to my simple easy MTL ones every time as that's really what I enjoy, faff free consistent vaping but I do like to keep trying different things out just in case so to speak. Fav at the moment are actually my little dinky vamo & ego tanks, take the re-wickable ego one CLR coils which are as simple for me as the protank coils to re-wick and just as easy to fill and go. Lovely MTL vape on them. I also find mixing a tad tedious sometimes so tend to do bulk mixing all in one go, takes me a good while as I only do 10ml of anything aside from my EDV Hazelcino and a Custard of some description and even then the biggest is 40ml. I honestly don't think you are the only one out there who gets bored of 'all things vaping' on occasion.

It's a top fill tank but it does weep a bit but not all the time. It helps if I put a vape band over the air intake whilst filling for some reason.
