Please sign the petition to " Call on the Government to urge Whirlpool UK to recall all faulty tumble dryers". We have one that has the design fault and have now waited over a year to have it replaced or repaired. They did offer to replace the unit at the beginning but the replacement was nothing like the one we had. So we said no we don't want that model. Since then nothing, nada, zilch. No offer of a repair or replacement. Whirlpool need to do something about this very serious problem as people are being made homeless all the time due to them catching fire. Done, We decided after buying a washer/dryer back in the 90's that we would never buy Whirlpool again. The machine was nearer the top of the range at the time, yet only lasted just over a year. Shocking, and the Company weren't interested.

Ours is an Indesit which at the time we bought it wasn't part of Whirlpool, so I don't blame them for the manufacture, but now they know there is a problem they need to do something about it.

Reminds me of the saga i had with my hotpoint dryer.
Recieved a letter saying that theres a potential risk of it setting on fire. 2 choices.. Wait several months for it to be rectified by an engineer. Or i could "just pay" £100 and they will swap it with another one!! Cheeky bastards!!!

Done my son is in the same boat as you Bobsbeer they have been waiting over a year now for an engineer to fix it, they too got offered a replacement if they paid £99!! but when they tried to order one they were all out of stock and since then nothing! Its ridiculous they have had more than enough time to sort this out.

We were offered a free replacement, but the model totally clashed with the rest of the kitchen, the other appliances we have, so rightly turned it down. They could have offered a different model but no. So because we had the temerity to stand up to a global conglomerate we are being put at risk. I hope the directors and shareholders of Whirlpool rot in hell for the damage and trauma they are putting people through in the name of profit.
