Scales, NV-500 vs. clones

I keep seeing people recommend cheap alternative scales on Ebay, let me tell you something now.... On Balance NV-500 scales are BRILLIANT, but the cheaper ones that look the same on Ebay/Amazon have one major failing, you cannot disable the auto-off, which means that partway through your mix your scales will power down..... believe me, I have both, the only differences in mine are the display colour (green is good), and the label on the back.

Stick with NV-500 and you wont go wrong, original on the left of the photo.




nb. Both scales still have the 'letsavit' film on them, they are really bare metal underneath

Well I've succumbed to peer pressure and ordered a set of the ones in the link. Indeed it is a very good price at £17.38 delivered jtc as they're £20.99 and upwards on Ebay. My only worry now is that I will lose my mad alchemists cackle when I stop using the syringes.

WHY have I got both?

Well I got the NV-500 first, and loved it, then found that it was getting used more for the business, weighing cat biscuits, so I bought the cheap ones for work keeping the 'authentics' for ME

You dont need special ones for Sphinx, I'm guessing you get the Royal canin ones.. kibbles are the same as all their others, it's just the additives they put on after, but you are right, decent cat biscuits are expensive, we buy all of ours in 10kg bags (12kg RC at the moment) and normally have around 100kg here at any one time.

I can thoroughly recommend Purina ProPlan Chicken, they are really nice to eat, could do with a little seasoning but definately the best 'out of the bag'

Yes q the royal canin sphynx one think we pay around £43 for 10kg, we use it because are cats have really bad tummy trouble ( there sick every day )

My scales are the same as them. Mines got blue screen. Think they cost me 7.99 delivered!
Ill never go back to using syringes etc. So easy and quick now.
