A heads up for anyone flying with Flybe.

I've just had nearly 100ml of ejuice confiscated at Exeter airport due to Flybe's policy of not allowing ejuice to be carried in hand baggage. I travelled with Flybe in the summer without issue, but this policy has now changed so please be aware folks.

Eek! That's grim news, hope you have some other eliquid in hold luggage?

I only travel with hand luggage so this last holiday I put split my juice between my mum's case and my hand luggage.

I did consider using an empty sample shampoo bottle. ... no one wants to spend first days of holiday hunting out a vaping shop!

Pepperty Luckily in one way I was only away overnight and it was on my way home. The info is kinda buried in the depths of their website, I hard to look hard to find it once I reached home.
At least now I will know to check in depth every airline I fly with before I go.

I took the labels off the bottles so that the "poison" thingy wasn't visible, but they were still spotted immediately...grrrrrr. Maybe a shampoo bottle would be good enough to throw them off the scent so to speak.

My suggestion involves replacing the contents of "innocent" products with "contraband".

Next time, miniature bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap and lubricating jelly.

Very contadictory information being given when you follow the link posted ......

Electronic cigarettes are not hazardous to flight safety; however, any item that gives the appearance of a real cigarette or which may cause offence to other passengers seated adjacent or nearby is not permitted to be used on board our aircraft. As such, Flybe do not allow e-cigarettes to be used whilst on our flights.

You can still carry an e-cigarette on your person (filled or empty) or within your cabin bag only as long as it permits to the usual security restrictions (i.e. is charged and can be tested at the airport if required).


Due to restrictions on certain liquids being carried, we are not able to allow e-cigarette refills in your baggage on our flights. This applies to both nicotine-based and 0% nicotine refills. We cannot guarantee that these items will be allowed through security at your departure or destination airports.

Please refer to the below article if you have any further questions:

Flammable liquids (such as lighter fluid) and toxic liquids (such as e-cigarette re-fills) cannot be carried on board; however, you can carry one cigarette lighter or e-cigarette with you as long as they are securely sealed.

.............. So you can carry on an ecig full of liquid but not any spare liquid ??

Glad I have never had to fly on their airline.
