My tent turned up today.

Unpacked it like an excited child, put it up in under a minute

Then tried laying in it and tried getting my camp bed in

3/4 of the camp bed went in and I'm as long as the bed

Tent is being returned asap

I'm back to tent shopping

It was 210 to 210 on the bottom of the poles where they pegged to the ground. The far edge of where the pegs go in.

On that picture, the 210 is from the edge of the black bits at the bottom of each pole

I'm 6ft 3in ish and if I laid flat on the ground it it, I would be pushing the sides out on the tent

Tried laying in all directions

Cracking idea with the speed it went up, just the size of it let it down

I must admit I also laughed when my friend (whos joining me) said 'isnt your tent a 2 man one and can we share?' << nope! there's no natural way that two dumpy ladies fit in a 2 man, its a tent each that's needed!

Luckily I own two, but you cant even get out of them gracefully? I have to back out, bum first and try not to trip over the guide ropes, I had to swap tents after the first year as my pop up tent is a bugger to clamber out from, she's more nimble than I so she gets that one. And to think we add alcohol into the equation....

Not my fault the average person is vertically challenged

If I had tried laying down in it, my head would have been sticking out the door

Or, if it rained, stick my feet out in a pair of wellies

It was like a kids toy

I'm looking for something that's quick to put up and has a bit of height inside

Alas almost all tents are skimpy on height. Its murder trying to get dressed inside one, it's like playing twister trying to wiggle into your smalls!

I'm always envious of VapingBad who brings a 6 man tent with multi rooms and full standing room. <<< TENT ENVY

I do have a 6 man tent (Vango Diablio 600, massive and takes an hour to put up or take down on your own), but only ever brought a 3 man one to VF (Vango beta 350).

ETA can't stand up in the one I bring to VF, can sit 2 in camping chairs at a squeeze.

Please tell me there are no restrictions on tent size at vapefest
Its been bad enough getting the bbq

There were a few comments at home, along with a lot of laughter
You could almost see my head poking out one side and my feet the other

MK2 tent ordered by a sympathetic 80yr old mother, once she had stopped laughing. Which seemed to take an hour or two
No problems standing up in this one

I know two ladies who almost camped on a grass embankment last year...............................without a tent !

Tenting is fun and like all things, if you buy the right kit, it will last years

My stoves have sat in the shed in Spain for nine years, then the garage here. New can of gas and they both work fine

Sleeping bags are military surplus, good to -15

Camp bed is 15 years old. Got a new self inflating mattress to add a bit of comfort

Collapsible table, again that's about fifteen years old

The initial outlay, can be off putting

Next year, my vapefest outlay will only be camping fees, food and fuel to get there 

The time it takes to walk there from your hotel, you can have a tent put up.

In my case you would be walking backwards with your eyes closed

Plus you get to play with some cool toys

I know them too: 6 drinks and their anybody's, 8 and their everybody's, 9 it's the Yellowbeard walk home, 11 it forklift or wheelbarrow home and if you want to know what happens after 13 drinks come to VF.
