Another thing is is if they charge the book hours for changing the pump separately as that would really bump the price up and main stealers live buy those books.

Couldnt agree more, I'd change the pump along with any tensioners, because sods law if you dont, it'll come back & bite you on the arse at a later date.

I used to have a little clio williams, theyre a bloody nightmare to work on (2.0L engine in a small engine bay) had to take the engine out to replace a water core plug that was behind the cam pulley, changed the water pump & belt at the same time & was going to do the clutch aswell as its an engine out job but thought id save myself £200 in parts & not bother......6 months later the clutch went, thats the day I learnt my lesson on that !...never penny pinch on something like that again lol

It is disgusting what a lot of main dealers do and the prices they already charge, then the add ons on top.

I usually service my own car although had the Mk3 Leon serviced by dealers for the past 3 years to keep warranty intact which is now finished so will be doing the basic bits myself and any other bits that I cant do to a trusted friends garage.

My last service has year 3 so needed it's first MOT.
Can you believe it failed on the number plates! the same number plates that the dealer had fitted from new when I bought it
They have a 3d effect but they are legal and VOSA confirmed this and showed the garage and they would have none of it.

I had to buy a new set of plates from them as I was waiting for the car and it's not very local to me to pass the MOT
I claimed it back from Seat and managed to get a voucher for the cost of the MOT to use at a later time but what a PITA
