What's the big attraction of the DNA ? Quality, efficiency (97%), reliability, configurability, 2 A charging and support (year warranty on the board). Best board on the market IMO, peerless temp protection especially with stainless steal it's night and day compared to most other boards. Generally accepted as the benchmark for accuracy in power mode with top notch safety features. I got this one because I have so many 25Rs that are not getting much use and with this it will be a great mod for long absences from power points, I could last a week easy. ETA: Since using a DNA 40 I have tried other boards from cheap to far more expensive and I enjoy the vape more with DNAs and just don't use the others, that's in temp mode btw. There is just no going back for me, not doubt there will be going forward at some point and better boards will come out in the future.

Thanks, I get all that, but for those of us who vape around 20w - 25w with plain old kanthal at around the 1 ohm mark, surely my current selection of mods (IPV d2 / Sigelei 75 / VTC mini etc are more than good enough? What would I get "extra" by going the DNA route. Are we talking Merc V Ford... both can do 70 happily but it's more comfortable in a Merc?

More or less, they do the regulation differently to most mods actually regulating the wattage constantly rather than reading the res, calculating the required volts and just outputting the volts, the EVic mini copied that and Evolv has opened a patient case against them. This mod would probably give you the most vape time from your batteries as it is step down and 97% efficient, you can set 8 custom profiles for different tanks or liquids, the diagnostic tools are great for troubleshooting problem builds and atties. Now there are fewer PWM mods about you probably wouldn't notice a difference in vape quality over another decent quality VW mod, but a guy posted he did on the DNA forum a day or two ago, think it was and IPV4 though not sure.

I like em, but I don't know about the build quality of the mod though at this price I bet is is very good value for money. I just noticed I made a typo in the last sentence I put "would" and missed the "not", changed that to "wouldn't".

You've just about convinced me I should chuck one of these in my basket VapingBad . You will love the speed it charges at through USB, faster than most separate chargers and you can get a fair bit of vape time from a 5, 10, 15 or 20 min charge (20 mins is about 30% on my Lipo DNA 250, just over an hour from empty to full).

Can I just chuck batteries in and vape away until I get my head round the settings and stuff VapingBad ?? oops should have probably said I won't be using it in temp mode just standard wattage.

Yes as long as you are just using normal wire metals (Ni, Ti, SS316, Kanthal, Nichrome), though it is a good idea to set the capacity of the battery for a more accurate battery gauge. And you need it for firmware updates, which are very easy todo.

Probably a bit of a waste but I'll get into temp sooner or later no doubt.
