how many people have contacted their MP to find out their stance on vaping? I read many threads on this, references to other forums, all a bit pointless to me, unless having a collective grumble helps. What does have an effect is letting your representative know how important your liberties are to you, and that it will affect your vote. If enough people badger the people in power, they will take notice.

how many people have contacted their MP to find out their stance on vaping? .... I have spoken to a couple. Different country, I know. In one of the last federal elections, I/we received cold calls from two different MPs seeking opinions from voters in their electorate. Clearly they were seeking my vote. They asked me what my issues were and what I considered priorities. So I let 'em have it. So, after I had wound down *grin* they both gave me the standard "thank you for your input" response and then asked what other significant issues I had. I responded with Legal Vaping is my significant issue. I was promised but never received contact back over the subject ...... It is my opinion that smokers/vapers are such a small portion of the voters nowdays (I think less than 15 percent smokers in Oz now and far fewer vapers), that the elected folk simply choose to ignore us and rather focus their energy where there are more votes. EDIT to add: I know of a number in Oz who have actively sought out their MPs and presented lotsa data for their info. In each case, the MPs singuarly advised positive response to the principal of harm reduction and saw Vaping fitted in with that. But in each case, party policy overruled local thoughts. And each of the major parties in OZ are clearly not for vaping.
