Does the Merlin RTA make a good frisbee?

Phew, feel slightly better for that.......

The Merlin RTA aka The Merlin leak all over my hands and over my mods

I've tried filling this damm thing, which actually gives a reasonable vape occasionally, and I would say that my first refill always ends up with a huge leak.

Silver air thing closed at the bottom and with the juice bubble thing open or closed...it still pours out....

What am I doing wrong, guys?

I dont own 1 but what I do with top fill tanks (presuming your wicking is on point) is fill it up screw the top on till it just touches on the O rings then invert it and finish tightening it up.
While its still inverted open any juice controls to equalize pressure then flip it the right way up.
Im not a fan of top fill I prefer the subtank take the base off option fills, I could never see what was so hard with that method TBH.

I do this with my Kayfun miniV3 plus tanks as well or leaking ensues at random through the air holes.

Fill it - top on - tip upside down - open juice flow a tad - you hear the phhhh of the air escaping - turn it the right way round and open the juise flow the rest of the way and vape.

Since I got the wicking right on my Merlin rta it's the best none leaking and best tank iv ever had for flavour, the only little niggle with the Merlin for me is the top fill cap and it's very short threads.

Replace your orings. It doesn't need inverting or any other tricks.

Ah... the Merlin.

I watched that being talked about a LOT - followed a long thread at ECF about it's development and release. Was flavour of the month for a while, then issues seemed to come up and result in it's loss of popularity.

It allowed for insertion of variable reducers to modify the draw - I fell for it and found the supplied insert too open for me, so I had a go at making my own inserts here.

It worked

BUT I watched ECF as many started reported
a) wicking was pretty critical to prevent leaking thro the bottom air holes - which was something I found - I could never get it working "just so", and
b) the base is formed of pressed plates - and many seemed to have issues with weeping thro/between the joined parts. There were some posts that showed how to seperate the base parts and replace the origns and such.... but that seems a lot of trouble to me.

Like so many that I've tried, the Merlin found it's way to the bottom of the "maybe I'll get back to that iffn I'm really desperate". *shrug*

I am eyeing these two rta or the Skyline clone as a bit looser MTL rta
