Try a roll of .5mm Ni80, 5 or 6 wraps at 3mm ID. Will change your life.  I might try that. Where do u buy the wire from?? I use the same stuff as striker42 linked |

Do you run the Ni80 in regular watts mode?
I'm guessing there isn't any temp control with it?
