Old Holborn - BCL

Evening all,

This is only the 2nd "un-interfered" (i.e. no cream/rum/coffee etc added) NET that I have tried from BCL.....and this one is pretty scary

Mixed at 10% on 30/11/17 - 50/50 - 4mg nicotine - vaped on the Voopoo and a Clieto 0.20 at 40w.

This one is so good, I really can't say a lot about it. It is absolutely, 100% spot on Old Holborn tobacco. A little sweet and full bodied it is, dare I say, the ultimate (so far...) in vaping a "real" tobacco.

If you know anyone who smoked rollies and is trying to get on the vapes - get them on this. It is the real thing....in vape form....

The scary part? This is as close to a real c*******e as you would want to be......

I think it is so close to the real thing that it would put some people off. I've also tried the Drum (AKA Drummer) and I would say that is 80-90% of the way there.

Have a bit of a quandary now....stick with the "real" NETs or go back to the blends....hmmmmm

BCL have a 15% dissy code going at the moment - 10ml (enough for 100ml) is 2.95 minus the discount....bit of a billy bargain I reckon

That's it ghostrider1971, you've talked me into this. Drum ? If it's 80% near the real thing, I'm in. % mix and recommended steeping time please, if you don't mind sir. 

PS. If only I could add the effect of a lic paper to it ........mmmmmmmmm.

I mixed it at 60 VG and 4mg nicotine - I've had mine on steep since 6 October (quite good for me!). I mixed the 10% bottle in 100ml mix - lazy but effective mixing On their FB page, talk is of 15% for some (never tried it!) and the website says between 5-10....

The website and followers say anything after 2 weeks is pretty good....

As for the PG/VG mix - totally different can of worms.....I think convention says high PG and low wattage. A guy who does reviews for them mixes 70% VG.... who knows

Thanks ghostrider1971, I'll take your advice on board. Think I'll go 10% at 50pg  50vg and take it from there.

Luv BCL's take on OH (was main reason I got off of the OH roll-ups after 30-odd yrs...pre-mixed in mini-PTs...).
Whilst You're vaping it tho'; steep 5g. of OH 'baccy in approx. 50ml. of PG for a month or 2, filter it thru' a paper coffee filter & use it as Your flavour concentrate at 20-30% in Your mix.....THEN tell Us which tastes more 'authentic'!!.....

Well ghostrider1971 , the Drummer concentrate landed last Friday along with some Old Captain and Ritual. All three mixed up and steeping. Yesterday I put a few drops of Drummer in a dripper to try it and it was absolute heaven. The flavour is eerily close to Drum tobacco. I have a feeling that it may be even better MTL with a higher ohm coil so I've taken the plunge for an Origen tiny clone from FT, which should ship today. To some people this may seem a strange move for me  but to be brutally honest, I've been struggling the last couple of months to continue vaping. The urge to smoke again has hit me hard a couple of times, so I'm heading down this path in an attempt to knock it on the head. It's five years past in August since I last sparked up, thought I was over all that garbage, but apparently not which has left me wondering if it is something that you really never get over. Who knows.

Over 4 years for me and I certainly occasionally have had those urges too. Far less frequently nowdays, but still. As you say does it really ever leave you?

Ritual is an absolute delight too - a nice nutty edge

Those buggers at BCL keep releasing new NETs and I keep reaching for the paypal

One thing I would mention is that some of them are a bit sweet for me. I found Old Captain and Captain Jack all sweetness and no NET. I've got cuban cigar and Londoner (cigarillo) on steep at the moment.....

It’s no secret I’ve been a fan of BCL for many years. Tried most of the range over time, preferring the straight up tobaccos to the ones with something added. Always have at least one big bottle mixed for the daily rotation. Makes a nice change from the fruits, desserts etc. Perhaps that’s why I’ve never had an inkling for a fag after more than 6 years. Mix wise I always go with 50/50 and heavier than recommended on the concentrate.

Silly question - if you steep the OH, you are taking the nicotine in to your concentrate mix....?

20mls 18mg nic

60mls VG

Time is the critical part.
Don’t touch it for at least a month to 6 weeks, not even to sample.

T'ain't a silly question 'cos it's been asked many times by many people! I think that 'received wisdom' is that the PG would only leach trace amounts of nic. if any....tho' this is anecdotal rather than 'science'!
PM Me Your address & I'll send 10ml of OH NET 'concentrate' that'll make nearly 30ml. juice (30%). I'll try & get it together b4 jetting off!!

Is that with BCL concentrate? That's 25%!!!
