Had to have a new turbo fitted to my car cos it has been making nasty noises for a while now, as i parked it in my garage sunday morning i spotted oil under the car, not just a leak but an absolute waterfall of oil coming out of the engine/gearbox join, so its gone from having a turbo fitted to having to have a clutch, flywheel, core plug and rear crank oil seal, can hear my wallet crying quietly in my pocket, anyone got any car related disasters they wanna post to make me feel better?

Probably won't help but I woke up this morning to find a Cleito v.1 and my Cleito 120 had both decided to leak all of their contents over my computer desk for no apparent reason overnight. 13ml (both were full - 8ml and 5ml) of well spread and very smelly Lychee fantasi (which is bloody awful BTW) vape juice to be cleared up - interesting start

Just been to the garage to get something out of my car, turbo is all done but the clutch was well worn and the dual mass flywheel is well goosed, as for the major oil leak turns out a stupid rubber coated core plug behind the flywheel had spun 90 degrees, thank you volvo for putting that in instead of a metal one like you did halfway through the models production run, all this headache for a £3 part.

In about the last year someone has reversed into me in a car park, about 2 months after getting it fixed it was parked at my girlfriends overnight and some drunk eejit decided to fight his pal and landed on the bonnet putting a lovely dent in it. Got that fixed then a slate came off the house roof and landed square in the middle of the car roof …. a couple of months later someone came through the traffic lights at the top of the road in the wrong lane and scraped down the drivers side …… about two months after getting that fixed a big box van reversed into the front end scraping right up the bonnet again and put a hole in the front bumper ! Needless to say I am now quite friendly with the guy that runs the bodyshop at my local garage

I suspect darlo1, your Vape budget may be somewhat restricted for a while. Erg! I hate horror stories of costly car repairs. Especially when they are a result of things outside your control like bad design or other people hurting your vehicle. I absolutely dread the thought of something big going "bang" in mine - a very expensive to repair diesel 4 by. BUT, despite that, I LOVE cars ....

Sort of know what you mean, still remember having to change the core plug behind the flywheel of a Cortana after paying someone else to change the engine in the road on the floor on Xmas eve without a clutch aligner. Had plenty of have to fix the dam car episodes, but paying £3720 a year for 3-4 hours commute every week day for overfull, unreliable and unpredictable trains sucks more for me, ymmv and it has cost you loads with no resolution.

Some cars are just complete ballbags, personally been sticking with my good old mk4 golf tdi. They're just so simple for me to fix apart from looking really tidy, I can't do that lol.
I can pick up a good 2nd hand turbo for about a 100 quid easily and fit it myself.
New Sachs clutch and dual mass flywheel cost about £250. So yeh, cheap motoring which is good seeing as I'm a peasant lol
Another problem of course is having to pay someone else to fix your car. But then you also gave to trust them.
My dad got his cars timing belt done by the dealer, but when I went investigating a noise I found they hadn't changed all the parts they should have.
Meant to swap out all rollers, tensioner and water pump but they just wacked a belt on.
I ended up redoing the job later, they hadn't even lined everything up properly.

Well the motors been back on the road for a week now, total cost of repairs inc vat.........£1584 and a few pennies, could have gone out and got another car but could have been in the same position a few months down the road, at least the clutch should be good for another 200000 miles lol.
