Please please continue to ask away Chris, cos that's how we all learn. I recently bought a tin mod and felt a wee bit dumb going on and asking why it didnt have a vent hole in it, in case of battery failure...and sure enough those who know came back and told me that any gas build up would simply pop the lid off as it's not screwed tight like a tube type mod. However, I also got a message from the maker (Ethelking) thanking me for asking the question and he is going to pop a wee vent hole in them from now on, even though they are not strictly required for safety. If in doubt, ask mate
