maccafan - no, wicks are very short, it is the old one. v3 about to be ordered though. Karma - saw this last week but thanks anyway. It is one of the reasons I initially rejected cartos because of the slow fill time of a new blank one. DiscoDes - probably agree, but in that case it is currently too much for me, I'm trying to find a happy medium here, a good hit with reasonable juice usage but it is too early for me to say yet. I'm waiting for it to bed in, and maybe change of technique from skycigs?

OK, things are moving quickly at work, a relatively small office in a unit with only 4 smokers including me and my colleague who got me started. 1 other already got hers (skycig) last night and the remaining one is due hers tomorrow. That's 4 out of 4 within a week. Amazing.
I've already interested another in an adjacent unit, and down the pub tonight, another regular asked me to order the skycigs offer on his behalf. I actually told him to wait. I'm going to fill one the new spare cartos for him so it is pristine pure, let him try it on the Riva, then loan him a full skycig battery for the day so he can see if it pulls any strings for him. Yes I know the battery will not last a day but it will give him an idea.
The new carto is slightly bigger than the skycig carto but screws on to skycig with no problems but I've yet to try it. We'll see how it pans out.

Lol perp!!
I understand that the extra juice is being vaped and not wasted, however the only difference I notice is slightly more potent flavour. I don't vape less using it or anything so the way I see it the extra bit of flavour (and to me it's not much) is not worth the extra juice usage!! Another thing I thought it could be is that the vision doesn't let much air through which would mean the vape is more dense due to not being aired down! Like how the like fags work with perforated filters?? No idea if that's right or not!! To me I don't think it's better to use more to get the same result, I'm well happy with my boges but can see why a lot of people like visions just not my thing! O and my vision is the one from the riva kit from VE

We're spolit for choice these days with vaping ephemera Rich, which is both a blessing and a curse. But it does mean that it's possible to find something that suits everyone's vaping requirements, albeit with some trial, error and expense involved. I love Kangers alot of vapers don't, Boges don't really work for me although I'd use them if there were nothing else available. It's all very personal, as with which ejuice hits the spot for you. I'm just delighted that we've more choice than a 510 or 901 atomiser now.

Well i was planning on getting some boge XXL tomorrow so Ill get a pack of kangers as well to see what there like!! I dont mind a little expense, Tomorrow (21 days in) I will break even on what I would of spent on fags so im happy! Will be getting another 50ml of juice, VV kit of river and 10 cartomisers which should keep me going for the next month and be within my "fag" budget!!!

Hope you like them Rich . . . I find them more flavoursome and a smoother vape than Boges, but that's just me.
The first fill, as with all cartos is the important one, I don't bottom /condom fill them . . . the wadding on the Kangers is set a little way down from the top of the ally tube. So I fill them up to the top, 4 times, then leave them probably for about 20-30 minutes for the juice to become fully absorbed, then away I go.

Yeah thats what ive been doing as the stainless steel boges dont have tight fitting "condoms" so when I tried most of the jucie just came out the side!! I also find that doing it the drip way I usually put to much in first time so I get a little puddle in the bottom of the condom which prob helps absobtion I then drip the excess back into the cart!! I will def give the kangers a go then, hopefully they will be smooth enough for my GF to use!!

I knew I should have checked the thread quicker. I condom bottom filled my first spare carto with Dekang Tobacco about an hour ago, and as expected was a little messy and time consuming. I like the idea of your approach though, does it still prime the atomiser OK?

Prime the attomiser ??? lol! It makes vapour and I usually put to much in so it drips out the attomisers but its always worked for me!

OK, I'll try that top fill method for new cartos next time.
In the meantime I have some more news. That young colleague that told me about the skycig offer just one week ago (see OP). I told you he was having great results. Even tonight he has only had 1 cig since then. He was off yesterday, so it was only this afternoon he got to try my Riva and clearomiser, and he was severely blown away. So much so he's not just ordered any old good VE starter kit tonight, he's made his own up from them. And GOOD LUCK to him.
I on the other hand had a tame day. Tried my first carto refill on an empty Skysig cart (top drip fill) with Dekang Tobacco. I was prepared to lose this carto if I stuffed up. First time juice use as well on the weak Skycig battery and I was not impressed with it, tasted strong to me. Later on tonight at home, same setup and a bit more casual use, I really liked it. Given that I may have overfilled the carto to start of with (blew through both ways and left to rest first) is it fair to say it is best not to overfill, and it will be a few vapes later before a refilled carto is at it's best?
Anyway, as aready posted, then condom filled a new spare carto a bit better than the Skycig previous one, same juice. Definitely fiddly. Put it on the Riva for a quick test and initial coil burn off with the drip tip. Then transferred this pristine carto without the tip to my spare charged Skycig battery for my pub friend I told you about last night. We'll see how he gets on with that tonight.

Good luck to your colleague from me as well I love the Boge cartomisers & actually find it really quick & easy using the condom method to fill them for the first time

is it fair to say it is best not to overfill, and it will be a few vapes later before a refilled carto is at it's best? It sounds like you're already getting the hang of this vaping business nightus It's definitely best not to overfill. And after refilling any carto/vision etc with a different juice you need to 'vape through' the flavour change so yes, it can taste a bit weird for the first few draws. Sometimes you discover an amazing new combination however
