Hi all,
I’m new to the forum today, although I have been reading and dipping in for tips and advice.
I can’t seem to find the answers to some specific questions I have.
Firstly I have only been vaping for 2 weeks, so its all new to me, I have heart problems and need to reduce… or stop the fags altogether would be ideal. I see from a lot of posters signatures’ this is more than possible.
1st question is what is the difference between, VG & PG, someone told to get 100% PG liquid! Any advice would be most helpful, 2nd question is how do we trust the manufacture as none of the bottles I have at present show ant recipients – ingredients’
I was told to avoid stuff made in China! The other problem is there seems to be no regulation what so ever on the products we purchase, so would you please be kind enough to help point me in the direction of a trusted seller, or manufacture.
I have just purchased a Olymplan Imist from ecig wizard one of the liquids is Vermillion river, the other is Freedom smoke USA
Many kind thanks
Trevor

Hi Trevor. Still fairly new myself but lots of others on here are very knowledgeable they will be along to help soon I'm sure. It is possible to give up the nasties completely I have done it myself. Some cut down over a period of time others stop immediately

PG is thinner, increases throat hit and you can taste the flavours better. VG is thicker, gives more vapour and can dull the flavour slightly. A lot of people prefer a mix of the two such as 70% PG and 30% VG or 50/50 for example to get the best of both. China juice such as Dekang or Hangsen is fine. As for the electronic parts, most are made in china anyway

I have just purchased a Olymplan Imist from ecig wizard one of the liquids is Vermillion river, the other is Freedom smoke USA Many kind thanks Trevor Hi Trevor and I think we need to move your post to the Newbies section In answer to your questions: VG is vegetable based glycerin, gives good vapour but less "throat hit". PG is Propylene Glycol - made in a chemical process, sounds scary but it has been used in food even asthma inhalers for years and poses no known health risks, gives a good throat hit but less vapour, most juice suppliers use a mixture 50/50, 60/40 or 80/20 to give you the best of both worlds. Suppliers even do 100% versions of each for those that have a allergy (rare) to a particular one. Avoiding liquid manufactured in China: There are some good Chinese e-liquid in China like Hangsen or Dekang, most reputable suppliers will be able to tell you the source of their ingredients either stated on the website or you could drop them an message and ask. If they don't respond or supply this information I would personally avoid them. There are many well trusted suppliers that post here and I am sure they will meet any health and safety criteria you have. You say you have got "I have just purchased a Olymplan Imist from ecig wizard one of the liquids is Vermillion river, the other is Freedom smoke USA". Many people here have bought from these suppliers they have good reputations for customer service and quality. Just keep asking, no question is too trivial, we were all new once.

Thank you all for the very quick responses’ and the warm welcome is most kind. DiscoDes, I’m sorry I have placed the thread in the wrong place, its all new to me, give me a week or two and I will know my way around, if you move the thread could you please leave a link so I know where to find it as I have bookmarked this page so I can see responses to the thread. I see you have also blown out the advice I was given about the manufactures of the liquid from China.
Cyberpixie, many thanks for that… so it looks like 70% PG 30% VG is a good place to start.
Are there one or two strongly recommended UK suppliers, not sure if recommendations are allowed on the forum, but I have noticed a vast difference is costs? and have read on here about some poor quality.
Many kind thanks again,
Trevor

Hello and welcome Trevor I have now got Ian Dury And The Blockheads - Clever Trevor going around in my head I am with the posts before mine about the juice, Pixie (second reply) does her own line in Juice so there might be a good one to look at also I can recomend Jay at www.vapourjuice.co.uk/ for a good quality supply. If you see one of the many out there and are not sure, why not post back and ask if anyone has used them to try to gain info on them.

I always think that is a sign of a good retailer, when they give you advice but dont try to push their stuff on you they just let you decide yourself. If you look at most of the ones with supplier status that post on the forum part (and not just the supplkier area) they are like that and will reffer you to others sites to get things. I think that his is because they are not huge corporate beasts our just out to bake a quick buck. They are genuine people with an interest in giving quality and service. Just need to look at the Kudos to Suppliers thread to see that they are valued on here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=suppliers&action=display&thread=1661&page=1
