Hi peeps. i would just like to ask for people's opinion.
The Question.
On my website i have made it so customers can talk to me LIVE as they shop to ask questions.
Is this a good idea or do you think customers should be left alone while they shop. !
All questions come straight to my iphone so i can be anywhere to answer them.
any thoughts.

I love those type of things, vodafone have one much easier than actually trying to contact them on the phone, but then again if it's just you running the business you might find yourself very busy!

While it is a good idea to have a easily contactable business, if it is a one man show you may not be able to successfully answer all queries which may lead to frustrated customers..
Better to have a contact telephone and reply to emails promptly and have a good guide to beginners on your website with links or embedded youtube videos.

i wouldnt contact them but they could see i am there so if they asked a question then a converstion could start. if it gets that busy the wife can do it while she hoovers..lol joke

As long as you make it something that is discrete, optional and inobtrusive to customers who don't want it, then offering Live help on sites is something that has been proven to substantially increase conversions (sales).
Be aware though that these things can be open to abuse and can suck up a lot of your time!

how it works is. there is only one conversation at any one time so i would be off line to everyone except the person who i am talking to. the guide for beginners is in progress as is vids.

i have a lot of time on my hands my main job is sitting watching a printer 12 hrs a day. using 1 finger to press print.!
