So impressed with my efforts my mum decided she wanted to get into vaping, so after all the advice on here I bought her an eGo-C Twist, bought from Jason with some LR carts and a usb lead plus plug and shipped it off to her. Several phone calls later she appeared to be making excuses as to when she was going to charge it and fill up the carts etc. Knowing her as I do I knew the only way for her to start this properly was in her own time so I just spent a couple of weeks casually asking if she was ready yet. 2.5 weeks after getting delivery she started asking questions, how do I fill a cart up? When do I know the battery is charged? how much liquid should I use? so I dutifully answered all these questions knowing she was writing this all down in preparation for V-Day (like what I did there? ) So V-day was upon us, I sat nervously by the phone waiting for the inevitable questions, it didn't ring ??? So later on that evening I stole myself to phone up and ask how she was doing. Answer simply was "it doesn't work". So I asked if she was pushing the button and went through the ABC of filling, carts etc etc, but nothing, I could hear here using the bloody thing, even pushing the power button but nothing. So logic time, battery was firing but cart was doing nothing, asked her to open a new one and without any juice just attach it, remove the white end and push the power button, she did and there was smoke finally!!! YES! Dodgy cart So I left her to fill that cart up and checked on her the next day, apparently she filled the cart sat there vaping for a bout 5 minutes and that stopped working as well.... huh?? So got her to open her third cart and fill it and that didn't work either. I thought this has to be a center pin issue or something like that so got her to send it, the carts and the power etc back to me (we live 150 miles away from each other). Received the Twist on Monday evening, opened it, unscrewed the cart from the LT and screwed it in and it fired immediately, tried another of my carts and it worked fine, and another and another. So then tried the carts she had sent me back and every single on was dead, no life on my LT, Riva or the twist. Very odd considering I have never had one blown cart and all five of heres appeared to be defective. Good news is I decided to use the Twist as my weapon of choice for 24 hours and the battery lasted my from 5:00pm on Monday till 7:00pm Tuesday fairly heavy vaping - I love it, I think it maybe even better than my LT for vaping (dare I say it) - not sure I want to send it back to her today but I will with a pre-filled cart for her to get on with it straight away (even though I bet she doesn't). It's not a smooth path this vaping lark

That would be pretty off putting for a newbie Tim But atleast she's willing to give it another go which is surprising and shows she does want to give up the stinky's. Good lucky Tim's mum

sounds very similar to nan in laws issues when she got her riva kit except her whole kit died within a couple of days!
Its good that you have got it sorted for her and I wish her all the best on her vaping journey!

That's just typical isn't it Tim? Just when you need things to be plain sailing I've heard of dodgy carto issues but like you never had any myself! I hope this experience doesn't put her off to much. BTW, buy you're own twist

BTW, buy you're own twist I am, I have just been perusing VE site for one but still convinced a Provari is a better option Really odd isn't it, I must have been through loads and loads of cartos and they have been fine and she gets and whole batch of them Well hopefully this hasn't put her off, she is keen to get it back so off it will go today and fingers crossed the carts I send her will all be ok

Crossing fingers your mom jumps straight back in Tim, the Twists are great little batteries arn't they I have never had a dead atty or carto but recently I had a dead echomiser, and I happen to think its a really good idea about getting the Twist and Provari, think how contented you will be, and ya can't put a price on happiness

Thanks for that!! Even the 1000Mah is only $24.99, that's quite a decent saving
