I have an Innokin that Perpy posted the link to Fan and they are quite good but still not as satisfying as your Riva is, I am happy to use the innokin but happier to get home and pick up something better, if he does go for an Innokin, I would say its best to get him a spare battery as thats my biggest niggle with them as the batteries wont last long at all and he can keep changing them over and up the Mg a bit foe a better hit, other than that I have no problem at all with it.

That's a nice little Riva battery Anne, but the description has confused me again, as it states LE cartomisers/atomisers can be used on these, but the other day this was discussed on another thread with other members and it was agreed not to go further than a standard on a Riva. Confused.com I think the confusion is not helped by describing things as initials (LR,SR, etc). The advice from those that know about these things is not to use anything below 2.0 ohms on a Riva battery. Apparently it's ok on an eGo battery though. It is very confusing, as oneday says nothing lower than 2.0 ohms on a Riva, but you can use low resistance cartomisers such as Boge 510 LR cartomisers though as they are 2.0 ohms. I've been using them on my Riva and they vape lovely, but they don't last as long as standard resistance and they drain the battery faster

For a 20 / day, you'll need 3 x Innokin batteries if you buy them on their own, one to rest, one to be on charge, one to vape with. Used with Innokin or Boge 510 cartomisers, I find the hit and flavour can sometimes be just as good as using the larger Joye e-Go T batteries. You can also just about keep it in your mouth, (it's not that heavy). I really miss not having a rollie stung in their and being hands free I bought them to use out and about, as I'd never used anything else, so use when out, but do use something good and proper when at home. My e-Go T batteries have lasted almost 3 days with a clearomiser on it. All the best, but if you can, get a really good battery, they do make a massive difference - it's just about you being comfortable with it, took me almost 3 days to use the e-Go T batteries!

Innokin Aio kit is good. Only room to charge 1 battery though so get at least 1 more. Has space for 3 carts. The charge time is relatively quick, its finished charging a dead battery before Ive finished using the other one. The silver looks like a pack of cigs, it looks sexy and I wouldn't feel uncomfortable using it in public.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks. I had a chat with him last night and I'm going to go with the ones that Dream suggested, and talk to him again in a few weeks about getting another Riva for home use . He doesn't particularly like drip tips, he prefers putting the bung back on the cartomiser, so I think he needs to start filling his own cartos He said that he wants to eventually stop using nicotine all together, but we are going through a bit of a stressful time at the moment, so I can't see it being any time soon, and anything that I buy now for him I must make sure that I like as well, so that I can use it afterwards. Am I being a naughty girl?

Good luck with it, I think the main thing is just to get him started, It all seems very scary and fidly at first. For example just over 3 weeks ago I only wanted a cig-a-like, only wanted pre-filled cartridges, didn't want to use my own juice etc...etc... Now I have 2 Riva batteries, an Ego Twist variable voltage, a tank and about 20 bottles of liquid lol. You said he's only really tried a few puffs? I think once you get him started he will realise for himself that he wants a better battery, try new juices etc.... Let us know how you get on

Am I being a naughty girl? I understand where your coming from, you just don't believe that they will love it and stick to vaping, so you start upgrading gradually and you think to yourself?, well if they don't like it you know it won't go to waste as you can use it yourself when you need something smaller. I have the 510 it's good, longer than the elite and the skycig, the benefit it has is that it gives you a little more life on the battery. I'm quite happy with it, but I want to upgrade from that as I feel the Riva is a brilliant little machine, saying that I still want my 510, basically I've decided even when I upgrade I will still continue buying 510 battery's for when I go out and about and don't want to carry the Riva/ego I'd say go for the 510, but be warned he will want an upgrade again , it just takes time to realise and accept that you no longer care about the look, but the vaping experience itself I've just explained how things worked out for me, so your not alone Btw, what flavor or flavours is your hubby vaping ?, what flavors is he into as, that plays a big part in being happy in vaping too? God, thats another long story for me regarding hubby and vaping, but got there in the end with the help of James from paradise vape, he whipped up this lovely recipe of Golden Virginia and that was perfect for hubby. He wanted the best match to the real thing and I must say James done a brilliant job whipping one up.

So far Mr Fan has tried the apple, which he loves, he's also tried the caramel and vanilla flavours and doesn't mind them - I thought they'd be too sweet for him as he doesn't have a sweet tooth at all. Of the tobacco flavours he's tied, he really didn't like the first few, but I suspect that it was refilling the cartos and mixing the new juice with whatever was left in there, ifkwim. Hopefully when the new kit arrives he will try the new tanks and atomisers and get a clean hit of the flavour, hopefully then he can pick a couple that we can get bigger bottles of.
