... a 306DCA on a Twist (preferably the long 1000mAh Twist)? Just want to see if it looks top-heavy. Cheers!

Nice one, blakey. Obviously on the 1000mAh, it's gonna be loooooooong, but it doesn't look top heavy. I just wasn't sure about the actual width of the DCAs. They're surprisingly slim! Cheers also, jayjay. It was specifically the DCA I wanted to see (these here: www.cloud9vaping.co.uk/GoodSense-Vapor-306DCA). I've already discovered how top-heavy these Twists are with tank jobs on them!

If you want a less hetic 306 Drip Shield option, then I can throughly recommend these Kuro . . . they work with Bauway's, Olympian and Joye 306's, no leaks at all. Can't remember if I've already mentioned them to you, apologies if I have. www.safercigs.co.uk/IO6306_Tip_Adapter/p705283_6357314.aspx

Yes, Perps, I think you have mentioned those to me already. I have to admit I was a bit dubious about them because of what I've heard people say about 306s tending to vary in size quite a bit (even ones from the same manufacturer, if I'm not mistaken). That's why I was thinking the DCA would be a better option, with it's variously sized bits and pieces.
Have you found these tip adaptors fit OK on most of your 306s?
(btw, just curious, as I've only tried Bauways so far: do you have a preference of 306 make, or do you find they all perform much the same?).

I was sceptical as well Kuro, because of the size discrepancy on the 306's . . . but it's really fitted all my different makes of 306 perfectly.
Of the ones I've tried, for me the Bauways & Olympian's are on a par, maybe the Bauways have it by a nose . . . Joye's are a little wimpy in comparison, but fine on a VV device when you can up the voltage a little to compensate.
They all seem to last for ages have to say and Des's denture bath treatment gives them a new lease of life.

I'm ordering one of those tip adaptors now. Just trying to get my head around how it works. I assume the bottom screws onto the outer threading of a battery, while the top takes a drip tip? Is that right? If so, does it take a 306 d-tip, or a 510 d-tip? (btw, I've been to get some Denture tablets and I'm just giving some 306s a "Disco Bath" right now! )

If you mean the IO6/306 drip adapter from safer cigs, it will take 510 drip tips..
I don't think it screws into anything..It's a tube with O ring to hold your 306 in place and is a drip shield like the empiremod drip shield as far as I can see..

Hang on, I'm confused now. Is this intended for use with a DCA? I thought the point of a DCA was to protect against drippage anyway? ???

No the DCA is a separate device that is far more versatile..In a DCA the atomizer is totally encapsulated inside and the DCA has it's own connector with an adjustable center pin..
This one meant to be used around the 306 ..Basically you connect the 306 atty to the battery and then slide this on top instead of the long or short 306 drip tip..It will have one or two O rings which will fit around the body of the 306 atty which will trap any excess juice from running into your battery..At the top you can fit your own drip tip..See a vid of the empire mods one..This one will be quite similar:

OK, I see. Cheers for the clarification, macca. (It was just the fact that you said it will "hold your DCA in place" that made me scratch my head!) So am I right in thinking that the main weakness of these tip adaptors is going to be that they are unable to prevent any leakage that might come through the airholes above the threading on the 306 (whereas the DCA will prevent this, as the atty will be completely sealed away)? Well, I don't have massively high expectations, but I'm going to give one a try purely on Perpy's fairly solid-sounding recommendation. If it doesn't do the job, I'll get a DCA forthwith.
