My 18350 and 18490 batteries have just arrived and I've put them on to charge....then I had a thought, when I measure them with my multi meter after charging will they be the same as the 18650's and shouldn't go above 4.2 or will they be something completley different being smaller batteries Now you'll have to forgive me if that's a really stupid question but I haven't got a clue another thing I've been wondering lately is when do you know to stop using a battery what's the first signs that say you should bin it.

Yes..Battery chemistry dictates the voltage..Battery size does not matter..
Fresh off the charger they should read around 4.1 to 4.2 volts..

In answer to your second question you will know when the battery has had it..
It won't last long between charges and will charge up to full very quickly..
