Kick

Hi, finally got my kick arrive today, I've put it in my ggts but I seem to have abit of a hit and miss fire. Almost like a loose connection. It may fire first time, for a couple seconds then cut out. Or it may give me a few good vapes, I think it's ok, then I get a blank. Any pointers, thanks

Hi, finally got my kick arrive today, I've put it in my ggts but I seem to have abit of a hit and miss fire. Almost like a loose connection. It may fire first time, for a couple seconds then cut out. Or it may give me a few good vapes, I think it's ok, then I get a blank. Any pointers, thanks Clean all the connections on your ggts, pay particular attention to the switch at the point where it meets the center post and of course clean the center post. The kick sits inside the upper tube of the GG so clean the inside of that out too. Make sure you leave Zero residue of any cleaning agent behind. Shine the brass post of the kick and its bottom section And one thing that no-one ever mentions, polish the terminals on the battery itself. Doing all this cured the same problem for me a long time ago It seems to be that when the kick isn't getting a pure enough power supply it thinks that it is dealing with a depleted battery. And lastly the battery itself, I have a couple of batteries here that the kick has problems with, try another on yours.

Yes, that's the juice collector tank doing it's job very well, it will collect any juice that's leaked and store it there so that it can't get anywhere near the battery. Pour it back into the ody, no waste with this design If you notice, at the bottom of the 510 connector there are small drainage holes? it should all make sense now

as Blakey said ...shine that GG up till its sterile.... i had the same issue so on Blakeys advice i cleaned my GG spotless ...still had issues so i cleaned it even better and it worked better than i ever imagined ... i would even take the switch apart to clean it
on a side note i thought the 'new' kicks sorted the issues with the GGTS?

Cheers guys, I've given it a clean with t towels and tissues. Used some water on a couple of pieces, but it's still abit hit and miss. Haven't cleaned the switch yet. Shall do it now. Worryingly however, I can't seem to fire it up at all with a single 18490 battery on its own without the kick? I hope that ain't a coil problem! God I hope it ain't that! 2 18350s she powers like a steam train and you can hear the crackle without the kick. But without the kick and a single 18490, i get zilch. Could I use 2 18350s with the kick Or would that be unwise or pointless?

DO NOT USE TWO BATTERIES TOGETHER WITH THE KICK it is designed to run on a single battery that fully charged will push out 4.2v two 18350s will put out 7.4v. Just methodically clean all the parts and as gordy says , dismantle and clean the switch.

Yeah I did remember reading a warning about the two batteries, but just wanted to confirm. At present the kick is out and I'm trying to work out why no work with one battery. Yeah sorry i had dismantled and cleaned the switch, I done that with water. I meant the kick, I hadn't wiped the contacts of the kick is what I meant. The batteries are good and fully charged. Work fine in the provari.
Thanks guys, I'll give another clean.

Right, I've put both my batteries back in another charger, (my xtar one) there both showing red. I'll wait till they go green and try again.

Just got my Kick the other day Jayjay and had exactly the same issues.
Get that GG stripped down mate, clean all the contact areas and battery spring with Scotchbrite or wire wool, including the inside of the top tube where the Kick sits, take the switch apart and wirewool or Scotchbrite the spring.
When you've done that, polish every thing with Silvo and then bung it all in the sink and get every trace of metal polish washed off it as the polish leaves a residue behind. Dry it with kitchen towels and then leave it to air off and dry thoroughly.
When its thoroughly dry bung it back together (carefully re-assemble) and you should be ok from there, mines firing everytime now, got to keep these GG's clean for them to perform mate.

Blimey, ok mate. Gave everything a bloody GOOD clean with tap water, and then a good dry with tissues and a t towel. A good clean. but to be honest i can still feel grease. I tried it again and still hit and miss. Occasionally a good vape, occasionally zilch, and occasionally or very weak vape. Ill clean it as you suggest including soaking it. Ta

Thanks ac. I've been beaten by the clock, time to get to work. Annoying. I've spent the past week sat on my hands knowing that saturday morning I would be vaping with the kick. I don't recall seeing this preperation. It could have been spotless already. Never mind, might have to take her to work with me! Luner did you have the same symptoms as me? Non firing or weak firing? And also you actually take the spring out. Does it just pull outof that pole thing at the bottom of the gg? Thanks guys
