Found the following that may be helpful: GG Guide (includes cleaning advise) Sadly, it looks as if the GG Wiki has gone away for some reason. That was also a useful page. Hey ho.

The GG wiki has a habit of disappearing regularly PeeKay, but there is a backup version here: ggwiki.et.com.mx/index.php/Main_PageI notice that nobody has mentioned using alcohol wipes - I find these work quite well at cleaning things. I find a vodka bath can be quite useful as well for small bits and pieces to de-gunk them a bit.

Luner did you have the same symptoms as me? Non firing or weak firing? And also you actually take the spring out. Does it just pull outof that pole thing at the bottom of the gg? Thanks guys I did mate, just the same. As Gordy says the battery spring will unscrew out of the pole, your switch will unscrew from the tube and then the inner and outer parts will unscrew too and reveal the spring in there, buff em up till you can yer arse face in em. I put a metre across the spring that was in mine and got a resistance of 0.8 ohms, might not sound a lot but when you've only got 3.7volts to play with its a mountain, plus all the Kick see's is reduced voltage and assumes the battery is flat and cuts out. A lot of folk think that two bits of metal only need to touch to conduct electicity but to conduct electricity well, the cleaner and smoother the contact area and the pressure of the contact are important. Think of how car battery terminals are actually clamped to the battery with bolts to maintain the contact mate.

Proper job mind, like this The judging panel will be watching closely and you'll get marks out of ten Oh, and lube the o-rings before you put it back together mate, if you've got nowt else a tiny smear of vegetable oil on them will suffice.

I would recommend getting some plain VG and using that to 'grease' the O rings. Also works well on threads.

NO VG.... NO Vaseline on threads ...use vaseline on the O rings only
i tried using alcohol (isopropyl) to clean the threads but this didnt work so well as i thought... the only thing that worked was a good metal polish. it removes all the crap and oxidisation and leave a clean metal to metal contact

You'll be horrified at the state of mine then Luner, mind you I did dust the top of one of them the other day, as I noticed it had a bit of a fur coat thing going on. :-[
