with the provari do i remove and charge the batteries at 3.7 or do i let the provari tell me there flat ie: flashing.
i have 3 new batts but the 4.2 is there only for the first draw and sometimes because the rotation means the battery has stood for 24 hrs it is 4.1 to start with, does this seem right. ive not meter checked them but i will if necessary. im using 2 per day or 1 per lil mama tank @3.8v with the provari in standard mode which is about right but i am taking them out at 3.7.

It's better to top up Lithium Ion batteries halfway through discharge..Will last you longer but I wouldn't stress myself over it.. 4.2 volts is the open circuit voltage of a LiMN IMR or ICR when freshly charged..The nominal voltage of these batteries is 3.7 volts..So, the battery will lower it's voltage quite quickly from 4.2 volts..Nothing unusual about that.. The Provari circuitry will take care of the under load voltage so the battery voltage is of little relevance to the vape except when the circuitry will not cope anymore and will warn you to charge the batteries.. thanks macca. raggy...............

I've been wondering the same, I keep thinking I'll wait until I get the flashing warning and see what voltage it has dropped to when it happens....every time though I've taken them out at 3.5 volts, I WILL wait next time though

Just checked my voltage as I'm sitting here vaping and it's now on 3.5 I'll keep on going and let you know what voltage mine starts flashing at.

Something I have only just realised is that when you have something on the Provari and do a battery check, I think it is giving you the under load voltage. With nothing on it you get a slightly higher reading. Personally I agree with macca - I tend to re-charge batteries when they get down to about 3.7, they are about 80% discharged by then anyway. Apparently it does prolong their life a bit.

3.2 and I'm flashing like a good un I don't know if I may have missed the first warning flashes though because it's flashing constantly at 3.2.

i understand the principle in charging at 3.7 to preserve battery life but if you are charging at what from the last post states it could 1/2 the battery capacity. therefore would you not be shortening the life as you are charging it twice as many times. in a sense is it not swings and roundabouts. just an observation with nothing to support it.

I'd read somewhere I don't remember where about not letting these batteries drop below 2. something, wasn't a vaping site though so don't know how vaping with them effects them, but I now you only get so many charges out of a battery so it does make sense what your saying....I'm a converted flasher I think hehe. (well unless someone comes along and says DON'T DO IT)
