The top selling electronic cigarette in the USA is set to launch here in the UK this month. The NJoy King, a disposable e-cig, with a real cigarette look and feel and taste and packed with a storming and satisfying 45mg juice - is ready to go. NJoy claim that they will make cigarettes obsolete, and plan to have sales of the NJoy King outstripping cigarettes within 10 years. www.conveniencestore.co.uk/news/e-cigs-to-render-traditional-cigarettes-obsolete/238408.articleThis is the one.
And, of course, I could not resist the opportunity of re-posting this : "relax, it's a f*cking NJoy" - classic !

Hi everyone, My new brand of e-liquid is ready. Called 'Top Juice' - it is a UK made juice, with pharmaceutical grade nicotine and ingredients sourced from within the EU. I do not physically make it myself, it is made under Laboratory conditions, but it is my brand and made to my specifications, with several unique flavours. All the liquids are a 60/40 blend of pg/vg, which I believe gives a good balance of flavour and vapour. The initial flavours are : Ciggie - a real cigarette flavour, just about as close to the real thing as you can get Premium Blend - a smooth, sweet, slightly nutty tobacco flavour Ice Menthol Strawberry Dark Fruits - dark currant with a hint of red grape (similar to Vimto/Ribena type flavour) Strong Apple Shisha - a very strong apple flavour, with a hint of aniseed. We are on facebook - www.facebook.com/TopJuiceUkAnd the website address is www.topjuice.co.ukCiggie Flavourwww.topjuice.co.uk/category/ciggieAn authentic cigarette flavour, dry tasting and about as close to the real thing as you can get. Well done. I approve of the no-nonsense (read hard-hitting) riposte you have written. One comment that particularly upset me was this one "They identified trace levels of tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) – cancer-causing compounds commonly found in traditional cigarettes, " Either ALL nicotine contains these, or it doesn't. If my e-liquid (which has no tobacco in it) contains it, then so do patches and inhalers from the NRT products. Trace levels - does that mean "worrying" levels or safe as Celery or Papaya? There are trace levels of TSNA's in e-cig vapour, the same is there is in NRT - the levels are so low that they cannot be measured and are so low that they are considered to have no effect on human health.

The new advert for the Njoy King - features american singer Courtney Love.
At a posh event, a stuck-up, full of herself old lady tells Courtney: "you can't smoke in here"
To which she gets the reply: "Relax, it's a F**CKING NJOY !"

I have a feeling that the hundreds of comments on their facebook page made them back down a bit from the original angle that they had planned (judging by the title of the piece).
Hopefully it might encourage some smokers to go on to google for some more info, and some of them might even end up reading a bit of AAEC and learning the truth. Lets hope so.
(BTW - "Lee from Wiltshire" is one of our friends from the UK Vapers Forum and goes by the name of Buxton74 over there - well done Buxton!)

Health and Safety madness ! Manchester City Football Club have banned a season ticket supporter from their Etihad Stadium - and suspended his season ticket - for using an e-cig ! Okay, this might have been against the rules and perhaps merit the supporter being given a warning, but to put e-cig use on a par with pitch invasions and racist language is such an extreme over the top reaction that it simply beggars belief !mancunianmatters.co.uk/content/14039261-health-and-safety-madness-manchester-city-season-ticket-holder-banned-etihad-%E2%80%93-smokIdiots. If there are any Man City fans reading this, please contact the club to tell them how stupid this is - lift the ban, re-instate the season ticket and give the chap a warning instead.

Reproduced from my blog - posted here (rather than the ECCA sub forum) as it is more Campaigning news about ECCA rather than a pure ECCA post I have decided to get much more involved in ECCA, and I am encouraging as many other people as possible to do the same. The public, especially smokers, are more curious than ever about electronic cigarettes. I believe that ECCA could be, and should be, one of the first points of call for a member of the public who is interested about electronic cigarettes and wants to find out some accurate information about the products that are available. With the MHRA proposals due and the ongoing EU Tobacco Products Directive, it is a crucial time to have an active and outspoken consumer association for e-cig users. Events can rapidly change the situation and the media is rife with speculation and poor information about e-cigs. ECCA should be one of the first points of call for a journalist researching a story about e-cigarettes. I propose a change of direction, and a call for action. The existing ECCA committee are a fantastic group of committed individuals and I would like to work alongside them - but I believe that a change of direction is needed in order to develop and expand the group so that is represents as many e-cig users as possible. A Call To Action - My proposals. - ECCA will seek to represent the largest possible cross section of e-cigarette users, this means we actively include users of all brands, including users of disposables and mass-market brands, and include dual users as well. - ECCA will actively demand representation in the political process, in so far as it affects users of e-cigarettes - providing representatives to take part in and give evidence to Government departments and political committees and sub-committees as well as take an active role in any consultation process. - ECCA will examine and, if necessary, challenge claims made by e-cigarette companies. For example the cigarette equivalence claims made for cartomisers (is a cart really equal to 40 cigs, for example? the smoking public should have accurate info) - we will examine all claims from different brands to ensure accurate information and a fair deal for the customer. - Launch an Annual "Swaptober" event. Every year during the month of October, have an intensive marketing campaign that promotes the benefits of e-cigarettes for smokers and encourage smokers to swap to e-cigarettes. - Change the structure of ECCA to allow for a leadership role to take quick decisions - but at the same time introduce fortnightly Skype meetings of committee members, to discuss policy issues. - Monthly online public meetings, either via online Chat or Skype - to allow input from members regardless of geographical location within the UK - to allow for maximum participation and representation. - Re-vamp the ECCA website and seek out people with internet expertise to use Search Engine Optimisation to bring the ECCA site to the top of UK web searches for electronic cigarettes to maximise exposure to new users. - Abolish the ECCA forum on the website and replace with active participation on the already existing and much more popular Vaping and E-Cig forums. I want ECCA to have an active voice and wield the clout to represent the e-cigarette consumer voice.
Now is the time to take it to the next level.

Danish politician, Merete Riisager (pictured above), has announced that Denmark has rejected the Tobacco Products Directive. The Danish EU-committee, had a closed meeting friday where the rejection was decided by a majority vote. They say that they refuse to accept a ban on electronic cigarettes or snus (and also menthol and slim cigarettes - and will simply reject any such proposals. The politicians in Denmark appear to have the backbone required to work in the best interests of their citizens. Now that Denmark has shown the lead, will the UK government also demonstrate that it also has the backbone to do the right thing. More details and a fuller account of this news has just been published on Christopher Snowdons blog here : velvetgloveironfist.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/denmark-rejects-tobacco-products.html.

The Mail have published a correction to the innacurate article written by Susannah Butter and published on the 27th January. The article triggered a tidal wave of complaints to the Press Complaints Commission over false claims that e-cigs were more harmful than smoking. Whilst we are still waiting for an official ruling by the PCC - this correction is the first sign that they accept that these claims are innacurate, dangerous and totally misleading.
