The problem with vaping is it's not as clear cut as taking a cigarette out of the packet & lighting it.
Just as you think your kit is going well one minute, it can give up the ghost the next minute. Vaping is a trial & error thing.

Hmm I have never had the same issues as you are having malibu. Whenever I've accidentally swallowed juice, it's never affected me to the point that even food tasted bad.

You might just have a duff vision & boge. Might be an idea to at least try a new boge.
Are you using lr boges on your Riva battery? They work better than sr ones with the Riva.
Don't be dis-heartened, it happens to everyone on more than one occasion.

Why are you taking Lavatubes apart lol.
Mine was knocked off the table & the end cap came off. Also there is a slight showing of metal where the top cap is but it seems to be working ok. However, am I to expect it to break because of it?

Are the batteries fully charged?
You could also be slightly over filling the vision & the boge. Or, both vision & boge have given up the ghost. Unfortunately e-cigs accessories are disposable & sometimes you can be lucky & other times disappointed with the life of the accessories.

My other half knocked my LT off the table. Drip tip & tank were fine, but the bottom of the LT fell off & the top of it were the carto screws in looks abit iffy. I can see a tiny faction of metal.
