Some f'arts vape wizard can take off the edge of the harshness. You literally only need around 1-2 drops per 30mls. You could also try mixing it with some TPA Bavarian cream which will soften it and give it a slight softness/creaminess or a touch of french vanilla may be nice. If you increase the VG in you rmix that'll help tone down some of the harshness and throat hit as well I think the Vape Wizard may well be something I'll try, thanks.

I've been mixing my own for over two months now, and the only ones I've been really pleased with have been the variations of menthol that I've done, lemon, blackcurrant, peppermint and spearmint.
When a mix isn't strong enough, I can obviously put a bit more concentrate in, but how would I know when to use the other variants like sweeteners or smoother-outers, as I don't seem to have learned anything about this at all?
Last night for example I tried orange from CCW, a 20% mix that I made last Saturday, and it was really rough on my throat, not like a big throat hit, but rough is the best way to describe it.
It needs a bit more flavour for starters, but any idea what I should be adding to make it 'smoother' as I don't have a clue?
Cheers to anyone who can help.

I've got one of these on the way. Should be hefty enough to do the job required, but imagine I'll only ever have one thing at a time in there anyway, so can't envisage any problems.

I've seen several of these torch/tube mods made on vids, and I *think* the bit you're looking for is often made by cutting down a large plastic bottle cap to fit. Something like a milk bottle or juice bottle, the kind with a wide plastic cap. And then use a small brass screw or a cut-down copper nail stuck through the middle and epoxied in as the connector. Does that seem right or am I barking up the wrong tree? That sounds like a good idea to me. Because I haven't taken it apart I had no idea how thick that piece of plastic is, but I'm getting the idea that it's not as thick as I first thought.

I saw it as a halfway house to quitting altogether when I began, knowing absolutely nothing about it. I always enjoyed smoking and spending less money was the driving force, rather than the health issues, but thankfully there are health benefits as the spending less money side of it flew out of the window as soon as I joined this forum. I like to think I've been investing, rather than just burning stuff away, and while I've not yet bought anything that's built to last 'for life', I'll have a good six to twelve months out of what I currently have, although I will buy more stuff as I have no willpower, which brings me full circle really. I currently have no plans to stop vaping, as I have to say I bloody love it.

Thank you very much! Will the head still be usable with a different coil or will it all be deaded? Not sure re what wire it was but was told 5 coils is approx 2.4ohm so that's what I did. I also use a pin to coil but did remove it lol!!! Shouldn't be anything wrong with the head, it's only metal, so I'd reuse it. Just re-read your post. How are you testing the resistance, or aren't you, as the wire will make a big difference?

tee hee Moon - but you made some useful points about the wires not twisting etc..... So you could have done worse That sounds like sympathy to me.

Can I lump on your thread and ask a totally new question? IF not please feel free to delete mods! I had a go at recoiling a head following an instruction video, coil, through centre hole, one through bung one just down side of it but off excess exactly as told. Powered it up, it went pop and didn't work anymore - what did I do wrong??! ALso when I took original coil out it was stuck in a funny fabric casing which I wasn't told I had to reuse but wondering now if I should have? No, you can't, could the mods remove the post please? I am of course not being serious. There will hopefully be other more experienced folk along to help if they're not avoiding the thread due to my ramblings, but have you checked that your wire isn't touching the sides of the head, as I believe this causes a short? That fabric you mention can be used to prevent this as it sits as a buffer between your coil and the head, so probably worth a try, although it will disintegrate after a whole. Worth checking also that the positive wire (the one that comes through the rubber grommet) isn't touching the sides of the head on its way down to the bottom. I think I got that all correct. Edit: all that and I got beaten to it.

Ok, just did the purple squash test and the squash rose approximately 6.5cm in 15 minutes.
Stuck it in a Vivi head with both ends touching the bottom with 1ml squash in the tank, and it took approximately 1.5 minutes for the coil (if it was coiled) to get wet.
Obviously this will be different with juice, but I'm happy that it's at least wicking at all.
I'll maybe give the juice a go tomorrow as I'm currently reboiling to see if I can supercharge the wicking.

I will be interested in this too as I thought the same,in that,it has no wicking ability, after burning it three times no matter how loose I wound the coil,I threw it in my bottom draw and decided to look for something else I just assumed it was me, as they were the first wicks I'd coiled, so assumed I was strangling them. I'll be happy as a PiS if it does work, as it's cheap as chips compared to silica.

Just done the first boil and the remaining water was brown. Doing another now. The plot thickens (as does the water probably) Did three separate boils of about twenty minutes each and it's dried overnight. I'll retest its wicking abilities tonight in a cup of purple squash so I can see if capillary action is occurring. I bet you can hardly wait for the outcome...
