Hi millerkev, and welcome to the forum, if you are just buying a cig-a-like to see if you get on with e-cigs, then it doesn't matter too much, as long as you are getting a true e-cig experience, I got my kit from www.skycig.co.uk it cost me just £11.99 for the full starter kit, using the coupon code SUN. I still carry this kit around with me now, as it is compatible with all my riva stuff, and is easier to use when driving, and draws less attention when I'm out and about. I spent 1 month using just this kit, before I ordered my riva and decided to really get into the world of vaping. I haven't had a real cigarette since I got the skycig in my hand.

I'm puzzled by this pam, I've not had any issues with my mini nova, it spends most of it's time laying down on my riva next to me, on top of that your original clearo is still working?? Is your house in a bubble of alternate reality??

if I seriously thought there was a chance of getting a provari & penny, I would have already submitted 20 designs rather than looking for parts to build a VV mod

I did look at texas instruments LM2596 board, I believe it's what Garry Dibley uses in his VV mods, but can't find anything saying how to link a read out to. I'm gonna go with the schematic above, as it requires a little more construction than buying a board ready made, and it's been a while since I've had reason to build a setup like this, it should keep me out of trouble for an hour or so Will be interesting to see what we each come up with cactus

Thanks Macca, thats a great help, with that schematic I should be able to knock up something a little different, without blowing myself sky high I have tracked down suppliers for most of the individual parts now, so just need to order and then start building Just so I'm sure on this, the yellow line is a 220 ohm resister??

It is only an idea but could the forum mods put together a page of cards that we could copy then print out as we all will have printers that would solve the printing and delivery cost in one fell swoop and then the forum would have the last word what was handed out with recommended web sites That would be a good idea, I would be happy to print them off, would only need to do a page worth at a time, then could restock as needed

lol this is it, I want to build something unique that no-one else has, I know I could do that by buying a ready made box mod and stripping it, but all I'd be doing is putting it in a new enclosure, not building it myself, so no real bragging rights

I have watched Garrys vids, thats what sent me on my little quest to find a kit to build myself that and he was selling some nice VV tins with displays, I did PM him a few days ago and ask if he could help with a place to get things, and what was needed, but got no reply yet Will have to give Maccafan a shout

The riva won't take anything below 2.0 ohms, but at that resistance will belt out 8 watts. If you are looking at using anything below 1.8 ohm resistance, then I would advise something like an ego twist or similar VV device. It may be better though to start with a standard kit, and see how you go with that 1st, before looking at lower resistance toys
