That's reassuring Karma. I wouldn't leave my phone charging overnight and I always charge my Twists where I can see them, although short of flicking the power switch and shouting for help I wouldn't know what to do if anything were amiss. I taken it the Ego Twist batteries are "protected" and safer than the batteries used in mods. Or are they?

Now I'm scared. I was going to buy a Provari but changed my mind because it needed separate batteries. I bought some new Twists instead, thinking I was safe as houses. How will I know my battery and/or charger are knackered? Is there any warning sign or will the battery just explode/disintegrate/catch fire?

When I was a child we had plants in our garden named, I think, Nicotiana with white or pink flowers that looked like weeds in daytime. At night the flowers opened out and had a beautiful scent. The leaves left a horrible taste on your fingers. Would that be similar to the tobacco plant?

Sounds good to me and I think I understand. So, would lower ohms be better because the battery would last longer? I think this thread might help anyone like me who is technically challenged but would like to try diy.

What is an FG wick? What are ohms, and what difference do they make?

Confused is an understatement. Nowadays the only time I feel the urge to smoke is when I'm researching vaping equipment and flavours. Think I might dump the custard mix anyway because I'm sure the guy on the vaping channel (can't remember his name) said something about avoiding all custard flavoured juices. Better safe than sorry.

Cloud Cuckoo planet. I've just been listening to a spokesman from ASH Ireland on the radio telling us about all the quitting aids available and not a mention of e-cigs. They are so wrapped up in their hatred of the tobacco industry they have lost sight of their aim to rid the world of cigarette smoke. They seem to be stuck in a time warp. |

There are three MEPs for my (Dublin) constituency - 1 Labour Party, 1 Socialist and 1 Fine Gael (a conservative type party). I phoned today and got through to the offices of the Labour Party and Socialist MEPs but couldn't get through to the other guy's office. According to the Labour Party, they have had a lot of calls about ecigs and the MEP is "looking into it". The Socialist guy is definitely voting in favour of the directive but the person in his office said it probably won't happen until next year because it has been delayed due to complaints about lobby groups being involved. I hadn't been inspired by our politicians before the phone calls. Now I'm downright depressed.
