I personally think that there are three streams of vapers. The first grab all the newest toys, try them out and find them to be lacking in some way, and then move on to grab the next new release. Then there are the vapers who vape simply to get away from tobacco and are content with low-brow gear which is easy to use, maintain and re-stock for. Thirdly, and I count myself in this stream, there are the vapers who are quite content with their mods, atties and juice, but who can be tempted in a small way to experiment. Take my recent purchase of a Pulse squonk mod and atty. This was in some ways a frivolous purchase, but it gets daily use so was not completely unjustified. I'm happy with my current stable of tanks, and have favourite juices which I have in fairly large quantities. I try new juices from time to time, and at times get positively radical in my choice, sometimes winning, sometimes losing. As I said in my previous post, no stream is better or worse than any other, if the vaping keeps us off the stinkies, then it's job done in my book

It is surprising to learn that, although there are dozens of new tanks and mods currently on the market, our member base continue to show good frugality and uses reasonably old-school equipment. Also interesting is the variety of tanks and atties in daily use, and also the number of MTL vapers within our ranks. No value judgement whatsoever, just an observation. If it works for you, . . .

Mods - SMOK Alien, now so paintless that it is bare metal all over!, and a Tesla Invader Three. I keep my SMOK R200 in my rucksack as a spare, along with batteries. Recently, my Pulse BF has been going out with me too.
Tanks - 2 x Ammits, 2 x Geekvape Eagles, TFV8 with RBA deck, and the odd appearance from a Baby Beast (currently on my Innokin MVP3 Pro!) and of course a Pulse 24 on my squonk mod. Velocity and Tsunami clones get a look-in at weekends.
I am well overdue a tank rationalisation as I have quite a few that sit quietly in a box awaiting use. Then again, I might use them again . . . .

Thanks beedee, I am currently running 2 x 9 wrap Kanthal .5mm 3mm ID coils, and things are a little better. I will experiment with the next build raising the coils up into the direct line of the airflow to see if that affects things. I think I could probably lose a couple of wraps off these coils too and still be within the battery's limits.

I suspect that your palate has grown accustomed to the effect of the WS-23. It might be worth trying some juice without the additive for a couple of days to see if, when you go back to it, the chill has returned

Right folks, time for an update and a question. First, the update. I've been using the Pulse mod with the Pulse 24 atty on for about 4 days now, and although not exculsively, here are some points which new or prospective squonkers might find useful. First, battery life and stuff. This is my first experience with a 20700 battery and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised at the battery life - so much so that i haven't yet noticed a drop in power towards the end of the charge. I received another similar battery from Fogstar today, meaning I can now more confidently take the mod out for a day safe in the knowledge that I have a spare fresh battery to swop over with. As this is a mechanical mod, there is no facility to adjust the voltage/wattage, and you have to build your coil(s) to the battery. I have experimented with dual SS coils and now a Ni80 single coil as suggested by striker42 - more on this subject later! The practicalities. Swopping batteries and also refilling and refitting the 8ml juice bottle has been surprisingly lacking in drama. I did end up with juice on my fingers due to overfilling the bottle, but it all fits in easily and just, well, works. Having the little switch inside which breaks the electrical circuit is great peace of mind when pocketing the mod, which incidentally doesn't leak AT ALL (well, not so far, anyway!). The mod and atty are well constructed as far as I can see, and work really well. The fire button recesses quite a long way, but contact is made well before this point, so I just listen for the crackle of the coils. The battery (especially the 20700) is a very snug fit, and I am watching the wrap very carefully to make sure this isn't suffering any damage. All in all, I am delighted with my purchase, but am feeling that the vape I'm getting is not all that I would expect. This begs the question; what dual coil setup can I build that is within the safety limits of my batteries but will delivery a warm flavoursome vape? I have tried dual coil SS .45mm 3mmID 5 wrap coils, and these weren't bad, and the single NI80 5 wrap is sort of OK, but I'm getting a muted flavour from juice which usually delivers well. Any suggestions for builds which I can try which will sort out this last problem for me please!?

ghostrider1971 - Cornish Liquids have started to do concentrates again (including Rainbow Skittles), but I'm not sure if they can be purchased through their website yet. I have tagged cornishliquids but Kenny the boss is at Vape Expo this weekend, so you might not get a reply for a few days. I'm sure he will be able to sort you out.

beedee - that's interesting, even with dual coils the atomiser is only now starting to bring out the juice flavour (I've now changed to Darkstar's Code Red which is rather nice). I'm hoping that I'll have some Ni80 in the next few days and will look forward to some experimentation with that. Although I used mech mods exclusively a few years ago, I need to reaccquaint myself with Ohms Law and how low to build as I have no protection again
