You da man robby It is not quite as straight forward as the vid shows, as I had problems finding the files that I had downloaded.....but that was just being un-techi me. Got there in the end, it seems that as you said, they have added Ti, and the menu for the wire change is a little better. Not sure if there are any other differences but still a great little mod for the price. All working fine on TC although I need it up at 480f compared to my normal 420f.

Great guide Greigster, I might give that a try. As the CW is packed in it might be worth increasing the wick hole size or even drilling two more at 90 degrees Thanks Greg, It would not do any harm to drill the holes larger, as you say, the cotton wool is nicely but not too tightly packed,but......I have had no problems with the existing size holes keeping up with the wicking even above 40watts.

Great work GreigsterI have a french tank from JWell, that now I can build my coils, courtesy of your tutorial... Really appreciate this. Regards Mike Hey Mike, glad it has helped. I also use it for vertical coils on an Ubertoot, leaving the bolt in until the last point just keeps things all in place.

Great tutorial , I have one question , usually when building coils , I fire them up to look for even glow . Is that not necessary ? And can use kamthal and what gauge would you recommend ? Thanks Mr p I use it for .34mm Kanthal as well @purple1234. I was using Ni200 for TC, so it should not be fired as it causes the wire to become very soft and unstable. As this is wound around a threaded M4 bolt, the coil ends up being a spaced coil as opposed to a compressed micro coil. For a spaced coil, the wires do not touch each other, therefore you do not need to check for shorts/even glow For Kanthal, I pre-burn before winding around the M4 bolt.

Nice one, I'll have to give it a go, although I'll probably use 0.3 Kanthal. I use it for .34mm Kanthal as well Des, no problems.

The final ohms reading should have said .16ohms and not 1.6ohms as stated,

Just a quick vid of my method of re-coiling the Kanger Vertical Occ head (this is the same Occ head for both horizontal and vertical coils)

Koopor Mod is a great little thing. I have no problems with the TC and everything works a treat for a bargain price.

I'm glad you managed to come up with something to replace it. Mine was pecans rather than hazelnuts though in case that helps you get closer Just please don't ever stop making Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream, Eve.
