I've not been denied vaping in a single pub as yet. I am fairly discreet and tend not to vape whilst at the bar, but have been allowed in everywhere from one with a posh restaurant to a Haven holiday lounge.

I generally tend to ask first if it's OK, and even ask on subsequent visits if there are different staff at the bar.

I was very disappointed to hear that Wetherspoons have banned the use of them - I have vaped in a Wetherspoons before with permission from the manager.
