Mark,
Haven't been there for a while, but I know the one you mean and used to go there on occasion. If they're not up for it, the white horse might be, it's just a bit further along in Townfield street. They're both "old style" boozers so they might be ok. Others I can think of that might be amenable are the Railway Tavern, the Star and Garter (Moulsham street) and maybe the Woolpack (Mildmay road). The last 2 are a bit of a walk from the station but still a possibility.

I probably won't be able to ask until the weekend, but I'll let you know!

Another Chelmsfordian here! I actually live just outside town (Galleywood) so am also a bit out of touch with the town pubs.
I do have a nice local here, where I'm allowed to vape although it's a bit foodie (nice food mind you) so I don't know how amenable the landlord would be to a bunch of vapers all inside vaping at the same time. I will certainly ask though, and it does have a garden so would be fine in summer. Galleywood is a bit of a pain by train as you'd have to get a bus or cab from Chelmsford town, but it's very convenient for drivers as it's right near the A12 junction.
There's also a nice pub actually on the Galleywood common which is excellent in the summer. I don't go there as much, but I do know the landlord so I could also sound them out if anyone's interested? Again it won't be a problem when the weather's warmer as it has a nice outside area at the front surrounded by the common.

Thanks all, I'm currently using 6.5 watts which seems to work perfectly and despite being only a little higher than my ego battery (I think) has improved the taste, unless I'm just dazzled by my shiny new toy. Another question I have (sorry to go on) is about batteries. From my research I gather the XTAR SP2 is a good charger to have, and I know everyone bangs on about AW batteries, but is there any recommendation for bigger capacity (presumably I need protected?) batteries? These EagleTac ones looked pretty good value: www.ledfiretorches.co.uk/aw-18650-2900-mah-rechargeable-lithium-battery-909.html, and there's a review here: www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?332963-Test-Review-of-EagleTac-18650-3100mAh-%28Black%29. Question is, will they fit the Zmax (it says they're small)? At the moment by batteries actual rattle a bit, so I'm assuming there's enough width... Anyone tried them?

Thanks, I think I get the bit about current now, so is is true to say that is makes absolutely no difference to longevity which head you use at a given power? (assuming the same quality).

Hi all,
I just bought a Segelei Zmax which I'm very pleased with, I'm currently using a 1.8ohm head in a mini nova which I already had on the go, and that seems to be working fine.
My question is that given I'm running in VW mode, what is the best choice of head resistance, and does it really matter? I have it in my head that higher resistance heads are likely to last longer but drain the battery quicker, but I can't quite nail down the science to know if that is the case?
Thanks LJ

Just a wee note to say I checked an Alchemist's cupboard bottle and it does have ingredients, so I was wrong! Although it doesn't say exactly what's in the flavourings...

Apologies if this has already been talked about, but as a newbie I've found it a bit frustrating that vendors don't always list at very least the VG/PG mix and ideally all the ingredients in their liquids.
I understand that ingredients can be seen as a bit of a "secret sauce", but I think it would help the case in the legislation debate, and from a personal point of view I'd like to know what I'm vaping. It would also be useful for people who have allergies, intolerances or just want to make choices (I'm thinking veggies, vegans and people who try to avoid particular chemicals).
Ideally it'd be nice to have the information on both the bottle and the websites.
Obviously Vendors vary, I've used Alchemist's Cupboard a few times and they have a really nice clear labelling system which shows VG/PG mix and a nic warning. I originally bought from OKSmokey and I still have no idea what the VG/PG mix is (although I found a forum entry that suggested 100% VG) and I've also bought from VapeEscape who's site mainly shows the mix, but not for all liquids (some just say it is a mix).
None of the Vendors list ingredients and it seems a bit mental that if I eat something they have to tell me what I'm eating (unless it's horse), but I have no idea what I'm inhaling.
Finally, I'd just I'd like to add that I'm in no way singling out the above Vendors, in fact they're mentioned because in terms of service they have been excellent, and I think they're well trusted.
It would be interesting to hear the Vendor point of view as well.

Strangely I watched a video about the itaste today. I think everything is a copy of everything else when it comes to the Chinese mods. I stumbled across this because the Sigelei Zmax gets good reviews and I was thinking of splashing out when I get paid. Wonder if I should wait as this one looks nicer and the screen looks a bit different from the norm. The only thing I'm not sure about with the telescopic ones is whether holding it will feel a bit icky when it's extended because the surface isn't smooth (am I taking this too seriously?).

moonraker - That's a fair comment, I guess that's what you're paying for when you buy from a reputable UK supplier. It's not so much that I'm a complete cheap-skate, actually I'd happily pay a bit more for decent quality, I just get the impression that there's a lot of gear out there of questionable quality waiting for the newbie like myself to burn himself with (perhaps literally). Luckily I'm an obsessive researcher . I'm actually surprised (I don't know why) that we don't have any good UK/European manufacturers producing mods to compete with provari, smoktech sigelei, innokin etc. as it looks a good market to be in right now. I mentioned those names specifically as they look like the better higher-volume producers. I guess the red-tape is so much more in the US and Europe, which in itself leads to higher prices, but it would be nice to see more quality and design out there. I know there are smaller modders producing the goods but it'd be nice to have a home-grown (or at least european) provari alternatives (for example).

So, you're stranded on a desert island, luckily all of your favourite vaping gear got washed up with you. And then you spot that there's also a big box of single flavour juice washed up on the shore, what are you hoping to see inside the box?
The rules are, you can only choose one and you have to list the name, the producer and the supplier (if different).
Go....
(I just thought it'd be a fun way to get juice recommendations for a relative newbie - if I get chance I'll wade through them and produce a top 10 or something - mods feel free to move or remove if I've broken any rules)

Mini Nova arrive today - great service from vapeescape. I've only had a couple of puffs, so early days, but the difference between this and the visions is night and day. First time I think I've actually properly tasted the menthol I've been using (Alchemists Cupboard mentally menthol - bit weak for my taste).
Thanks all for the recommendation.
P.S I now understand why I need a plinth, 'cause it looks a bit pants without one!
