xtc263You don't appear to have mentioned the result of your 0 nicotine trial. Would be interested to know what it was. The nicotine had nothing to do with my increased heart rate. It was still just as high when I stopped vaping nicotine e juice

Hi sorry just seeing this now. I was using a proper heart rate measuring device. I also had it measured by the doctor as well. It's currently at 115bpm when I'm not on beta blockers. But getn more tests done soon to try and find out the cause.

Well, an update. BP is still too high, but my new prescription is starting to work so that's good. Also, the Echocardiogram was successful, and showed up nothing to concern myself with. Due to see the GP again when I get back from a bit of Balearic warmth! Good news. Hope u enjoy ur time away x

I'm particularly interested in this as I am due to have an Echocardiogram next Tuesday - my GP thought he detected a 'heart flutter' so thought this would be prudent. Touch wood it's nothing serious, and I can go on holiday 2 days later with nothing to worry about! Hope ur echocardiogram comes back clear. Fingers crossed for u x

I have a high resting heartbeat too, but from what I gather its linked to my thyroid, same as my issue with the cold, and problems sleeping plus muscle weakness with pins and needles in extremities so it might be worth having your thyroid looked at? Hi pepperty thanks for ur reply. That is one of the tests I got done on Monday. Waiting on my doc getn back to me with the results.

A few years ago, before I stopped smoking, I accidentally discovered that I had a high resting heartrate - 90 to 100 bpm. In a bid to get fit I had tried to enrole at a local gym, but they said I couldn't join because of my high heartrate and strongly advised me to see my doctor. Eventually I was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation or AF) but no problem with blood pressure. Personally I had no detectable symptoms so I don't know how long I had had this condition. I've been on beta blockers (nebivolol) ever since and my heart rate returned to normal. 18 months ago after I was diagnosed with emphysema and the doctor suggested I try electronic cigarettes to get off the fags (50 years of Golden Virginia). I started on 18mg and after 15 months I am now down to 6mg. The nicotine made no difference to my heartrate. It would be best to continue to discuss your own condition with the medical professionals. Thanks for ur response. I'm glad u got off the cigarettes. Sounds like it was just in time. Im back at the docs on Monday so hopefully after they do their tests I'll find out the real reason my heart rate is so high. Would just like to rule out nicotine in the mine time. Which I will by tomorrow. Thanks for ur advice

Some more q's: - do you mix your own juice? - have you changed your juice (or component supplier/brand) recently? - is it more pronouced with one or other flavour? Sometimes I mix my own juice. Tho atm I am vaping a new juice. I started it a mth ago. My heart rate increased initially 2 mths ago. I was using a juice I'd been using for ages then. So don't think it's down to a particular brand of juice. Like you've said tho I'll know by tomorrow if it's nicotine related or not. Thanks for ur help

Do you have better kit now than you did 4 years ago? Most people drop their nicotine levels considerably after changing to better delivery of their vape. Well I've been using the same kinda set ups for the last few yrs. currently it's a uwell crown with rba 26w on a macro 75w

Firstly xtc263, I'm glad you have already taken professional medical advice. I personally would doubt that it is the nicotine; if it were that that has caused this symptom, I would have thought that it would have manifested itself long before now. Shortly after giving up smoking, my blood pressure went through the roof, and I am now on medication for this. Smoking was masking this change in my condition, and as I am now vaping 1mg juice I doubt that has much, if any, effect on my heart rate or BP. Has something else changed? Diet, stress levels, or other changes that happen to ladies (apologies if I'm out of order here!). It seems strange that this increase in heart rate is only showing up now. Do keep us posted as I'm sure there are others who would also be interested in the outcome. I hope all sorts itself out quickly for you Hi thanks for ur reply. I can't think of anything that mite be causing it. No other issues I'm aware of. As I said I'm vaping for over 4 yrs. I've been vaping 6mg nic for around 2.5 yrs. At the min I'm using 0mg nic just to see if it makes any difference. I'll recheck my heart rate tomorrow. That way I'll know if it's the nicotine or not. Thanks for ur help

Hi I currently vape 6mg nicotine e juice. I've been vaping over 4 yrs without issue. However over the past few mths my heart rate has increased considerably. It's generally between 95-115bpm resting. Cud it be the nicotine (my husbands idea). Or it cud just be an underlying health issue. I've been to the doc who's prescribed beta blockers. I just don't know the cause. I'm getn blood work and other tests done next wk. Just wondering if anyone else has any similar issues.
Thanks in advance
