I wouldn't have touched the clearos/novas etc on fast tech, they all look cheapo and we all know what they're like. The CE4s I've had off them seem pretty good to be honest, and it was a gamble on the novas, I've sent em a message about the novas, lets see what they say  I don't really mind either way, £3 novas are always gonna be just that, it's a risk I knew before buying them and accepted that |

Even more nova sadness, managed to get through the plating on one of them, and tried it, both of them read 0.0ohm on my vamo, so wont fire!

Hi all, sorry for my lack of replies on the nova subject, I am at work at present so will post some answers later, the only things I can tell you at present are that there are no holes in the threads on either of them, the centre posts on both are fixed not spring loaded, and do sit proud like the spring loaded ones. One of the posts is bent anyway, so I will be sending photos of that to FT anyhow. Tried sticking a pin into the 'air hole' in the base, nothing changed. Covered the bottom of the post and no airflow whatsoever. The two I ordered are www.fasttech.com/products/1319601 and www.fasttech.com/products/1319600 |

Well, my 2 novas arrived today, and I must say I am completely disappointed! They are totally unusable, due to the only airway in being on the very bottom of the post, which to be working has to be on top of the battery, this means there is zero draw on them (unless they aren't connected to a battery lol)! I'll contact ft after work later, win some lose some |

An odd one from fast tech today, I recieved a delivery from them I ordered on 22nd April, but have not yet recieved the order from the 20th, maybe customs got it, wouldnt be so bothered, but that is the only order that I have picked up for a friend, and she is really looking forward to it!

Nice find Robby, willing to bet those have a driver built in & you just need to supply 12v. Might add 1 to my next order and see if I can fit it into the hood of my tropical aquarium. Been looking for a cheaper way of getting a nice "blue moon" led in there for evenings. Would be interested to know if it can be set to 1 colour or if it's constantly cycling through...there's no button on the remote that says "fixed" or anything. I used a strip of blue leds in my marine aquarium. It does look very blue in my photo but that's the way the camera decided to make it look lol.  Man, your fish are so taken care of, they even have their own TV, how lucky are they? |

Thanks for the comments guys, scs I burned my first attempt to death with 7 watts (forgot to change the setting), so not really first attempt, and the hotspots are a strange thing, I just had to keep spacing my coil out as even a possible. I think I got lucky TBH! Add to that the fact I didn't need to use any no res wire as well. Hope you have some good luck when you try next! |
