I figured out another way. I've connected the multi-region dvd player to my region 2 dvd recorder and I'm recording the dvd's onto it's hard drive and then onto disc. Just started doing this and it's working perfectly I know it's illegal but it's for my own personal use and I'm only doing it so that I can watch them anywhere. I'm not planning on making copies to sell - it's an old western series so I doubt anyone would want it anyway! Thanks so much for your good advice. I'm glad I asked before playing them all on the pc and ending up locking it to region 1. Whew! Mandi

Cheers for the info. I do have a multi region dvd player so it's not a big issue.
I really need to know if - when I'm playing the dvds on the pc will I know if/when I reach my 5 code change limit? Or does playing all 6 dvds in one session count as one code change or 6?

Hi experts,
Need a wee bit of advice. I have a region 1 dvd box set that I want to play on my pc. Now, I think I remember reading something once that you can only change the region code 5 times and then it sticks to that particular region. I don't know how to do this.
But when I put the dvd in - first I got a region code error, so I tried it again and it played just fine, without me doing anything to change it.
What I need to know is can I play the rest of the dvd's (6 in all) without my pc becoming permanently region 1 as I'm in the UK and region 2?
I'm using Windows Vista and my pc is about 3 years old
Cheers, Mandi

Hi Brian,
Greetings from hot and sunny Costa del Ballywalter!!! *waves*
I know how you feel about not wanting to stop smoking. I enjoyed it too much and found the patches helped with the cravings from a nicotine point of view but I still needed to sit down with a cuppa or a glass of wine and physically smoke a cigarette.
Apart from the lighting up - which I do miss a wee bit - e-cigs are the next best thing.
Try 'em. Mandi

Hey! You must be my evil twin then! Or I'm your evil twin!
I'm actually Amanda but I use Mandi sometimes with a y online.
I love F1 with a passion that is beyond belief - have done since about 1978. I'm so sad I have every race from 1978 to last weeks recorded onto dvd.
Hubby hates it and hates getting dragged to Silverstone once a year. He refuses to go to any European races on the grounds that the cost of just one race would get him to his favourite football teams matches all season.

Clutter!
Yes! Thank you. That's what I was doing, but only putting about half in. That was probably enough on my first evening. I'll probably order some menthol juice of some description as I occasionally enjoyed a menthol smoke.
Signing off now as I'm going to have another relaxing vape.
Really, really want to say thank you to all of you for the advice and help you've given me.

Gawd, I hope I'm doing this right. It certainly feels right. I got the starter pack - the riva 910 and 10 dry cartridges. Then I got the juice today. I opened the cartridge took out the "filter" thingy and poured about 5 drops in. Wasn't sure if that was enough or too much, but it seemed okay although I got a bit of a taste of something on my lips. A mouthful of wine took care of that It's a bit fiddly pulling out the filter thingy and pouring in the juice which is why I'm not completely sure I'm doing it correctly. But it seemed okay and I certainly enjoyed the smoking sensation. Apart from a packet I bought a month or so ago and only smoked some of that pack, then threw it away, I haven't actually smoked since last September when I was in Italy on my own for the F1 racex and because I was on my own I went nuts and smoked about 20 or more each day over the 3 days, only stopping when my flight home was called! I remember years ago at F1 races they used to hand out free packets of Marlboro. I was always first in the queue! This was one of the reasons I considered the e-cigs - I'm going to a couple of races again this year and if I have these i won't end up buying a packet as soon as I get there. So I haven't actually switched cigs for vapes - it's more like patches for vapes. I'll have to look at the videos more and read up on any tutorials. It's a lot harder to learn to vape than learn how to smoke - that was easy - just bring yer school dinner money to Big Jeff behind the bike shed and he'll sell you 10

Well, I had my first vape this evening after me dinner and I loved it. I think maybe I would have preferred something that looked and felt more like a ciggie in my hand but apart from that it was just like having a smoke. I took it outside to start with, along with a glass of wine and puffed - I mean - vaped away to my hearts content. Then I went indoors and had a few more vapes in the living room, and I haven't smoked indoors in abot 10years!! Loved the throat hit. Loved blowing smoke rings Loved the experience. One question - how much do I put in the atomiser? I only poured a few drops into it as I was a wee bit wary of overdosing or summat. Mandi

Hi,
Guess what I got in the post this morning - my Riva thingy. Yippie! Now just have to wait for the juice, a sunny evening and a glass or two of wine.
I also confessed to hubby that I'd bought an e-cig as his attitude - being a complete non-smoker - is that once you decide to quit it's easy!!! I have seriously considered waiting until he fell asleep every night and then slapping a nicotine patch on him!! There Hugh, see how that feels!!!
He asked why I'd bought the e-cig and I explained that the patches just weren't working any more and I didn't want to start smoking again. So, he was okay about it.
I noticed the thread on ebay disappeared not long after I posted on it!!

Cheers, I'll buy some from James tomorrow. I was about to, but my broadband connection is starting to slow down now - always does in the evenings out here in the ars... um I mean .....back of beyond.
So I'll sign off for now and go and watch Stargate Universe.... banished to be back room as always as husband has the football on.
Many, many thanks for directing me to this forum. I must say it's the nicest and friendliest forum I've ever been in.

Right. So, I've ordered the riva 510. Now I need to order juice. I think I'd be happier with the baccy flavour to start with. Anything else? Oh, does this thing come with instructions i.e. filling up on the juice. And by instructions - I mean easy peasy stuff like how to make it work......

I might be replying to myself here because I'm not sure how to reply to posts above the most recent one - if that makes sense.
Anyway, i've just ordered the riva 510 starter kit. Do I now need to buy e-juice or does some come with it? Also, I've noticed some are cigarette brand flavoured (mmmmm L&B Gold) and some are well, all kinds of flavours. I feel like a kid in an ice cream shop - and I don't like ice cream!! What should I go for - the real smoke flavour or something else??

Hi there, Wasn't sure, as I've found myself having to explain and apologise when I've said - "I could murder a fag right now." I figured it was probably okay as this is a UK forum but just thought I'd check.

Hi there! Thank you. Will have a think about what I need exactly and then have a rummage around in all of the threads. I'm in the UK too - Norn Iron to be exact.
Cheers! M
